  • Publication number: 20230099821
Abstract: System and methods for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The systems include an external catheter and an integrated suction regulator or a stand alone external catheter for use with any source of regulated suction. The external catheter includes a suction tube an a fluid pervious cover. The catheter's cover is applied at the female's urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female, whereupon urine from the external female catheter passes through the cover into the suction tube, from which it is carried by out of the external catheter for collection. The external catheter is malleable so that it can be conformed to the anatomy of the female.

  • Patent number: 11547788
Abstract: A system and method for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The system includes an integrated external catheter and suction regulator unit. The external catheter is applied at the female's urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female. The suction regulator is connected to a receptacle for collecting the urine and is operative to regulate suction applied to the canister from a hospitals' suction line to a regulated value which is applied the external female catheter, whereupon urine from the external female catheter is carried by the regulated suction through the suction regulator and into the receptacle. The external catheter includes an internal suction tube and an external removable and replaceable liquid permeable cover located on the internal suction tube. The external catheter is malleable so that it can be conformed to the anatomy of the female.

  • Publication number: 20220280711
Abstract: A system and method for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The system includes an external catheter. The external catheter includes a suction tube having a portion enclosed in a hydrophilic sponge cover. The suction tube is arranged to be coupled to suction of a desired value. The cover is arranged to be disposed externally at the female's urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female, whereupon the suction draws the urine through the cover into the suction tube. The external catheter is arranged to be connected to a receptacle for collecting the urine received by the external catheter. Various embodiments of the suction tube and the cover are disclosed.

Abstract: A system for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The system includes an external catheter, a canister and a suction regulator. The external catheter is applied at the urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female. The canister collects the urine and is coupled to a source of suction having a first value. The suction regulator is interposed between the external catheter and the canister to regulate the amount of suction to a regulated value which is applied the external catheter, whereupon urine from the external catheter is carried through the suction regulator and into the canister. The system may also include an adapter or an adapter/splitter for connection between the source of suction and the canister.

  • Publication number: 20210023279
Abstract: System and methods for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a patient, e.g., a female. The systems include an external catheter, a suction canister and a sound suppressed suction regulator. The suction regulator and canister may form an integral unit. The external catheter is applied at the urethra opening to receive urine voided by the patient. The suction canister collects the urine and is coupled to a source of suction providing suction having a first value. The suction regulator is interposed between the external catheter and the canister to regulate the amount of suction to a regulated value which is applied the external catheter to carry urine from the external catheter into the canister. The suction regulator includes passageways through it that do not form a tortuous path so that noise is not generated by the air flow through those passageways.

  • Publication number: 20200268989
Abstract: A smoke evacuator system includes a regulator device configured for coupling to a vacuum source for evacuating smoke from a laparoscopic field within the body of a patient. The regulator device is pneumatic-operated and configured to continuously monitor pressure of insufflation gas within the laparoscopic field and to automatically apply suction from the vacuum source to the laparoscopic field when the pressure monitored reaches a preset level, whereupon smoke within the laparoscopic field is evacuated from the laparoscopic field. In one embodiment the smoke is evacuated via a conventional trocar. In another embodiment, where the laparoscopic field is confined, the smoke is evacuated by means of a smoke probe.

  • Patent number: 9872674
Abstract: Entrapment and collection systems and method of entrapping and collecting biologic material produced on a patient are disclosed. The systems include a collection bag which formed of a flexible sheet material having a hollow interior, a first mouth and a second mouth. The first mouth is openable to enable the biological structure to be disposed in the hollow interior and to enable a removal instrument, e.g., a morcellator, to be introduced therethrough to engage the biologic structure to effect a procedure on it. The second mouth enables a viewing instrument to be extended through it for visualizing the procedure and is closeable by a drawstring to entrap biologic material produced by the procedure after the removal instrument and viewing instrument have been removed, whereupon the collection bag may be withdrawn from the body of the patient.
