Patent number: 12623116Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for providing training opportunities based on data collected from monitoring a physiological parameter of persons engaged in physical activity. The physical activity can be a sporting activity, such as a contact sport (e.g., football, hockey, lacrosse) or a recreational activity or sport (e.g., biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, motorsports). The system is configured with select components that perform a method of (i) recording data related to a physiological parameter of a person engaged in a physical activity (e.g., an impact received by a player engaged in a contact sport), (ii) analyzing the recorded data related to the physiological parameter while the person is engaged in a physical activity (e.g., is the received impact greater than a predetermined threshold), and (iii) providing post-physical activity analysis of the recorded data to make suggested changes in how the person engages in the physical activity.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2021Date of Patent: May 12, 2026Assignee: Riddell, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan Beckwith, Michael Richards, Jeff Chu, Richard Greenwald, Richard Bolander

Publication number: 20260055929Abstract: A water heating appliance includes a jacket wall, a tank base disposed within the jacket wall, and a centering base disposed under the tank base. The jacket wall engages an outer portion of the centering base to form a substantially liquid tight seal, and the substantially liquid tight seal at least partially prevents a flowable insulating material from traveling in between the jacket wall and the centering base to an exterior of the jacket wall.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2024Publication date: February 26, 2026Applicant: Bradford White CorporationInventors: Conlin Britton, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250347383Abstract: Systems and methods are directed toward clamping assemblies that can be used to at least temporarily secure an object to a surfacer in a non-parallel arrangement. In at least one embodiment, a gimbal knob can be used that includes a gimbal joint able to receive a connecting bolt over a range of angles with respect to an axis of rotation of the gimbal knob. As the gimbal knob is rotated, the gimbal joint can pivot to receive the connecting bolt, and the connecting bolt can be pulled into a threaded receptacle of the gimbal joint. The gimbal knob can use a number of bearings to allow for pivoting of the threaded receptacle as necessary. Multiple gimbal knobs can be used to secure an object to a curved, irregular, or non-planar surface or other object.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2024Publication date: November 13, 2025Inventors: Caryl McEndree, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250321023Abstract: A water heating appliance includes a heat exchanger that draws heat from process air and delivers the heat to a heat exchange media. The heat exchanger has a polygonal cross-section defining a first area. The water heating appliance also includes a blower that delivers the process air through the heat exchanger. The water heating appliance further includes a funnel that directs the process air from the heat exchanger to the blower. The funnel manages an air pressure of the process air to be consistent within the heat exchanger, and the funnel regulates the air pressure of the process air to decrease evenly and consistently between a downstream surface of the heat exchanger and a port that directs the process air into the blower.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2025Publication date: October 16, 2025Applicant: BRADFORD WHITE CORPORATIONInventors: Joshua Bultema, Benjamin De Jager, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250297776Abstract: A water heating appliance includes a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and a heater that heats a fluid that is delivered to a fixture. First and second wall panels define a perimeter wall that extends around the heater. A first top panel is attached to the first wall panel and has a seat that partially defines a dividing edge. A second top panel is disposed on a second wall panel. The second top panel includes a mount that further defines the dividing edge. The mount engages the seat to define an enclosed position. The seat extends below the mount. The dividing edge defines a cutout portion. The fluid inlet and the fluid outlet pass through the cutout portion. The second top panel is separable from the first top panel and the wall panels define a minor access aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2024Publication date: September 25, 2025Inventors: Joshua Bultema, Benjamin De Jager, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250297779Abstract: A water heating appliance that includes a fluid inlet that has an inlet retainer end, a fluid outlet that has an outlet retainer end, and a bracket that engages the inlet retainer end and the outlet retainer end. A rotational torque that is exerted on a threaded fastener of one of the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet is absorbed by the bracket and transferred from a torque receiving end proximate the threaded fastener and distributed through the bracket to a torque distributing portion of the bracket.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2024Publication date: September 25, 2025Inventors: Joshua Bultema, Benjamin De Jager, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250297778Abstract: A water heating appliance includes a heating system for heating a fluid from a fluid inlet. Front and rear wall panels cooperate to define a perimeter wall that extends around the heating system in a surrounding position. A junction box is externally visible with the plurality of wall panels. An attachment interface includes a sliding retainer of the front wall panel and a sliding receiver of the rear wall panel that form an interlocking attachment in the surrounding position. The front wall panel includes a junction box slot that extends around the junction box in the surrounding position. Vertical motion of the front wall panel separates the front wall panel from the rear wall panel and separates the junction box slot from the junction box and defines an open area for accessing at least the heating system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2024Publication date: September 25, 2025Inventors: Joshua Bultema, Benjamin De Jager, Michael Richards

Publication number: 20250297777Abstract: A water heater includes a heat exchanger that absorbs heat from process air for delivery into a heat exchange media and that has an outer perimeter that defines a first dimension, a blower that selectively draws the process air through the heat exchanger, and a funnel that extends between the outer perimeter of the heat exchanger and the blower. The funnel includes a rounded port proximate the blower. The rounded port has an inner perimeter that defines a second dimension which is smaller than the first dimension. The funnel has an inner surface that maintains an air pressure of the process air to be generally consistent within the heat exchanger. A portion of the funnel forms a portion of a blower housing for the blower.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2025Publication date: September 25, 2025Applicant: BRADFORD WHITE CORPORATIONInventors: Joshua Bultema, Benjamin De Jager, Michael Richards, Abhishek Sharma, Jeevan G. Publication number: 20220242610Abstract: A metal can with a monolithic laminated hermetic seal is provided. The lid and sidewall of a can each include a laminated layer bonded to an interior surface. The lid and sidewall of the can are rolled to form a double seam and mechanically seal the can. When the double seal is formed through the mechanical rolling process and before heating, a bi-laminate layer forms between the adjacent laminated interior surfaces. The bi-laminate layer is then heated, causing each laminate layer to melt and fuse with the adjacent laminate layer. This creates a monolithic laminate layer that fills gaps within the double seam to form a hermetic seal that is impervious to air, water, gas, liquids, and other fluids.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2022Publication date: August 4, 2022Inventors: Alvin Widitora, Rowdy Holstine, Michael Richards, Phil Frisella
