  • Publication number: 20190108476
Abstract: An automated package delivery system for receipt, storage and delivery of packages to customers. A facility unit body provides secure internal storage for an automatic package receiver and a distributor service module. Individual packages have package specific identifying information. The service module is in two-way communication with higher level components via a computing device. Higher level components include a cloud server and an external database. The computing device receives and transmits the package specific identifying information to the external database via the cloud server for storage in the external database, receives an input for delivery of a package, retrieves package specific identifying information from the external database via the cloud server, uses the retrieved information to retrieve the package, and releases the selected for pick-up by or delivery to a customer. Methods of using the system to deliver packages to a customer for pick-up are provided.

  • Publication number: 20060124154
Abstract: A washing system configured for use in the interior storage area of a vehicle includes one or more guide rails disposed on an interior portion of the storage area of the vehicle. A washing unit is disposed in the storage area of the vehicle and is operatively connected to the one or more guide rails. The washing unit has a frame including a channel extending therethrough and one or more nozzles in communication with the channel. At least one drive mechanism is operatively connected to the one or more guide rails and the washing unit. The drive mechanism is configured to move the washing unit through the storage area of the vehicle. A washing supply unit in communication with the washing unit directs a washing solution under pressure to the washing unit that is expelled through the one or more nozzles on to the storage area of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20060020489
Abstract: A system and method for automated package delivery and pick-up include at least one package portal located in a delivery and pick-up station to receive and dispense packages from the station. A station controller is coupled to an information input system and the package receiving and dispensing portal mechanism, and is arranged to associate package and intended recipient identification information with a received package. The controller is also arranged to process identification information, which may include biometric information, to authenticate the identity of an intended recipient, and to permit dispensing of the package from the at least one portal in response thereto. The station supports unattended delivery and pick-up of packages to improve overall efficiency of a package delivery system as well as user convenience and safety.

  • Patent number: 5482139
Abstract: An automated drive-up vending facility (10) and method utilizes a plurality of automatic transaction machines (12) located around the periphery of a storage building (14), whereby customers can drive their vehicles along side the building, insert an account/debit card into a card reader (16), and make product selections via a touch screen display terminal (18). The products are stocked within building (14), and an automated picking/sorting subsystem (20) retrieves the selected products for deposit into a dispensing chute (22). Selection and product information is provided at the display terminals (18) via an interactive menu driven program. Selection of products subject to sales restrictions automatically actives video conferencing equipment (26) so that a sales attendant can confirm customer authorization to purchase the selected product.
