Abstract: A tracking unit configured to connect to a robotic device and move across a surface of an object. The tracking unit includes a body, one or more distance sensors mounted to a first side of the body and configured to detect a distance from the object, and one or more peripheral sensors mounted to a second side of the body and configured to detect a peripheral feature. A controller is configured to receive signals from the one or more distance sensors and the one or more peripheral sensors. The controller is configured to position the body a fixed distance away from the object and to prevent contact between the body and the peripheral feature.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to dispense high viscosity fluid with a forming end effector are disclosed. An example an applicator includes a tool interface couplable to an arm of a robot, and an end effector supported by the tool interface, the end effector including a contoured surface and an outlet proximate or on the contoured surface, the outlet to dispense fluid therefrom as the end effector is moved such that contact of the contoured surface with the dispensed fluid is to shape the dispensed fluid.
