  • Publication number: 20250066261
Abstract: A method of producing a densified carbon fiber reinforced carbon (carbon/carbon) component includes placing a carbon/carbon preform and preform heater(s) into a reactor vessel with an immersing quantity of a precursor liquid (e.g., hydrocarbon). The reactor vessel includes a condenser for condensing precursor gases (e.g., carbonaceous gases) produced during densification and thereby maintain a thermodynamic equilibrium. Electrical current is supplied to the preform heater over a multi-hour period of densification in which the precursor liquid is continually boiled and the precursor gases continually produced. The current is sufficient to maintain the preform at a densification temperature above a precursor cracking temperature, thereby causing the precursor gases to be diffused into the preform and dissociated gas species to be deposited. Densification begins within the preform and advances outwardly along a densification front until completion.

  • Publication number: 20250061245
Abstract: In a method for designing and producing a mechanical component for an application, application requirements and application variables are provided to an optimization engine, wherein the application requirements describe required features and the application variables describe features that can be varied to arrive at an optimal design. The optimization engine is operated using the application requirements and application variables to produce a manufacturing specification for the mechanical component, which includes specific values for the application variables corresponding to an optimal design. The mechanical component is then manufactured according to the manufacturing specification. The optimization engine may use a genetic algorithm to generate and evaluate a large number of candidate designs and thus quickly and efficiently produce superior application-specific components.

  • Patent number: 12226617
Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating a continuous glucose sensor, including a receiver, a medicament delivery device, and optionally a single point glucose monitor are provided. Manual integrations provide for a physical association between the devices wherein a user (for example, patient or doctor) manually selects the amount, type, and/or time of delivery. Semi-automated integration of the devices includes integrations wherein an operable connection between the integrated components aids the user (for example, patient or doctor) in selecting, inputting, calculating, or validating the amount, type, or time of medicament delivery of glucose values, for example, by transmitting data to another component and thereby reducing the amount of user input required. Automated integration between the devices includes integrations wherein an operable connection between the integrated components provides for full control of the system without required user interaction.

  • Publication number: 20250052887
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for a multistatic radar system that is configured to detect airborne objects without the need for a transponder on the aircraft. The multistatic radar can be implemented using preexisting communications infrastructure associated with various networks such as paging networks. The multistatic radar system can be implemented using a plurality of multistatic communications links (e.g., transmitters that are communicatively coupled to a plurality of receivers). The distribution of transmitters and receivers in the network can be based on the RF conditions of the coverage area of the network. The multistatic radar network can produce one or more deterministic waveforms that provide the network with signal diversity needed for accurate detection, localization, and tracking of airborne assets.

  • Patent number: 12225563
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a terrestrial to air communications network that can be configured to include a spectrum management system that deterministically allocates spectrum to aircraft for use during flight. In one or more examples, a user transmits a flight plan to a spectrum management system that is configured to manage the RF spectrum in a given air space. In one or more examples, and based on the received flight plan, the spectrum management system can allocate an RF spectrum frequency “slot” (i.e., timeslot, subchannel, or resource block) for the aircraft to use during its intended flight. The spectrum management system can take into account available spectrum as well as the predicted network traffic and their spectrum allocations to determine an RF spectrum slot that can provide a stable and continuous communications channel to the aircraft during its flight.
