    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a vehicle power system. In some examples, the vehicle power system can include a plurality of redundant low-power buses coupled to respective low-power batteries. The low-power buses can be powered by a vehicle battery having a higher voltage than the voltage of the low-power batteries by way of a DCDC converter, for example. In some examples, the DCDC converter can be coupled to the low-power buses via a plurality of switches included in an Auxiliary Voltage Controller (AVC). The DCDC converter and the AVC can be housed in a common package to reduce the size, weight, and complexity of the power system while also improving the power system's durability.

    Abstract: Polyester polyols made from thermoplastic polyesters are disclosed. The polyols can be made by heating a thermoplastic polyester such as virgin PET, recycled PET, or mixtures thereof, with a glycol to give a digested intermediate, which is then condensed with a dimer fatty acid to give the polyol. The invention includes a polyester polyol comprising recurring units of a glycol-digested thermoplastic polyester and a dimer fatty acid. The polyester polyol can also be made in a single step by reacting the thermoplastic polyester, glycol, and dimer acid under conditions effective to produce the polyol. High-recycle-content polyols having desirable properties and attributes for formulating polyurethane products, including aqueous polyurethane dispersions, can be made. The polyols provide a sustainable alternative to bio- or petrochemical-based polyols.

    Abstract: Semi-crystalline polyester polyols and their use in reactive hot-melt adhesives are disclosed. The polyols comprise recurring units of a C2-C10 aliphatic diol, a C8-C24 aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and 1 to 20 wt. % of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid source, a polycarbonate, or a combination thereof. The polyols have a hydroxyl number within the range of 14 to 112 mg KOH/g. Reactive hot-melt adhesives from the polyols and composite structures produced using the adhesives are also disclosed. A minor proportion of aromatic dicarboxylic acid, polycarbonate content in the polyester polyol surprisingly improves the properties of reactive hot-melt adhesives when compared with a commercial hot-melt adhesive or an adhesive formulated using an all-aliphatic polyester polyol. The adhesives are useful for bonding a wide variety of substrates, including paper, wood, glass, ceramics, plastics, and metals.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for using multi-criteria state machines to manage alarming states and pre-alarming states of a hazard detection system are described herein. The multi-criteria state machines can include one or more sensor state machines that can control the alarming states and one or more system state machines that can control the pre-alarming states. Each state machine can transition among any one of its states based on sensor data values, hush events, and transition conditions. The transition conditions can define how a state machine transitions from one state to another. The hazard detection system can use a dual processor arrangement to execute the multi-criteria state machines according to various embodiments. The dual processor arrangement can enable the hazard detection system to manage the alarming and pre-alarming states in a manner that promotes minimal power usage while simultaneously promoting reliability in hazard detection and alarming functionality.

A method of operation of a radio access node includes determining that an imbalance between parallel channels of a spatial multiplexing downlink transmission to a wireless device is greater than an imbalance threshold and/or that a Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) rate over time for the parallel channels of a spatial multiplexing downlink transmission reported by the wireless device is greater than a NACK rate threshold. The method also includes, in response to determining that the imbalance between the parallel channels is greater than the imbalance threshold and/or that the NACK rate is greater than the NACK rate threshold, performing a fast rank reduction for a next downlink transmission whereby a rank is reduced from a rank indicator reported by the wireless device to some lower rank. Reducing the rank may improve downlink throughput.
