  • Publication number: 20080130184
Abstract: In devices for producing strong current high power impulses, the electronic components, for example, passive components such as capacitors and/or switch elements, such as semi-conductor switches, diodes or similar elements, need to be protected against overcurrents in the event of an error function. Generally, serial resistance and serial inductance are used. The serial resistance and the serial inductance are preferably combined together in such a manner that a coil comprising necessary resistance and inductance values is produced.

  • Publication number: 20080023445
Abstract: A switching contact is disclosed for vacuum interrupters, having a radial or axial magnetic field. In at least one embodiment, the switching contact includes a switching contact carrier and a contact plate. The switching contact carrier contains a coil for generating a magnetic field, said coil being formed by slitting the wall of a pot-like contact carrier. The outer diameter of the slitted wall of the pot-like carrier is smaller than the diameter of the contact plate located thereon. The switching contact is also provided with an annular supporting body which is inserted between the contact plate and the base of the contact carrier and surrounds the contact carrier at least in the slitted region. A vacuum gap is provided between the outer supporting body and the slitted wall.

  • Publication number: 20030071521
Abstract: A high-voltage pulse generator includes a storage capacitor which is connected to a voltage source via leads. One of the leads is connected to a reference potential via a node point. A switching device is connected in parallel with the storage capacitor on the voltage source side. An output inductance is connected to the one lead via a further node point arranged between the storage capacitor and the first node point. A diode lies between the node points.

  • Patent number: 5746051
Abstract: In automobiles, for example, the exhaust fumes must pass through a plasma reactor operating by the principle of dielectrically inhibited ("silent") discharge, consisting of an arrangement of flat plates with alternating metallic and dielectric layers, whereby a plurality of adjacent discharge paths in parallel in the flow direction are formed. According to the invention, the discharge paths border on a single metallic electrode surface or layer (62, 72) and the electric power is supplied (58, 59) from two different sides with the metallic layers (62, 72) having alternating polarities.
