  • Publication number: 20220275936
Abstract: A cooling system is configured to cool exhaust gases exiting a furnace of a steel production system through an exhaust hood, a dropout box, and a hot gas duct of the steel production system. The cooling system includes an inlet configured to receive water from a water pump for cooling the exhaust gases, and an outlet configured to exhaust the water from the cooling system. The cooling system further includes a first water line configured to supply the water to the exhaust hood of the steel production system for cooling the exhaust gas received therein, and a second water line configured to supply the water to the dropout box of the steel production system for cooling the exhaust gas received therein.

  • Patent number: 7905812
Abstract: An embodiment includes a method of engaging a PTO with a drivetrain includes detecting a value representative of the speed of a PTO output gear, and detecting a value representative of the speed of a PTO input gear. The method further includes reducing the speed of one of the PTO output gear and the PTO input gear, and engaging the PTO input gear with the PTO output gear without the use of a clutch to synchronize the speed of the PTO input gear with the PTO output gear.

  • Publication number: 20050175386
Abstract: A method and apparatus for correcting skew of an advancing sheet responsive to the detection of one or the other of aligned fiducial marks located near each of the opposite side edges adjacent the sheet leading edge. Upon detection of a first of the fiducial marks, the advance of the side edge of the sheet associated with the detected fiducial mark is repeatedly dithered rearward and then forward while the opposite side edge of the sheet continues to advance. The dithering of one side edge while continuing the advance of the opposite side edge continues until the other of the fiducial marks is detected after which the advance of the sheet is resumed.
