  • Publication number: 20170363230
Abstract: A hose arrangement includes an outer tube of flexible material and an inner tube of an elastic material for carrying fluid. Due to an action of the elastic inner tube, the hose has a shorter length in a contracted state in the absence of fluid pressure in the interior of the inner elastic tube and a longer length in an expanded state when the fluid pressure is applied to the interior of the elastic inner tube. The tube has an undulating state in the contracted state and controls and contains expansion of the inner tube when the hose is in the expanded state. At least one sleeve portion is provided between the elastic inner tube and the outer tube along a part of the elastic inner tube where undulation of the outer tube occurs in the contracted state for protecting the elastic inner tube from abrasion undulations of the outer tube.

  • Publication number: 20170308354
Abstract: An efficient hardware apparatus for calculating the maximum and/or minimum of two n-bit binary input values generates a number of separate select signals, each of which is then used to control the selection of a single bit from one of the two binary inputs. A select signal for an ith bit of the output depends upon bits [n?1, i] in each of the two binary inputs and based on the select signal the ith bit is selected from one of the two inputs.

  • Patent number: 9702487
Abstract: A debris blocking device that may prevent grease and particular buildup inside the protective piping of a typical fusible link fire detection system. The debris blocking device has a shield with two surfaces. The one surface engages a protected object, while the other surface forms an area of the shield. The debris blocking device has an opening disposed within the area of the shield. The debris blocking device may engage a length of conduit, or piping that has an inside and an outside surface, and an open end. One surface of the debris blocking engages the inside surface of the open end of the conduit or pipe. This surface of the debris blocking device may also contain the opening that is capable of admitting an elongated component.

  • Patent number: 9623568
Abstract: An example method may include determining a requested yaw for a body of a robot, where the biped robot comprises a foot coupled to the body via a leg. The robot may then detect, via one or more sensors, a yaw rotation of the body with respect to a ground surface, where the foot is in contact with the ground surface. Based on the detected yaw rotation of the body, the robot may determine a measured yaw for the body. The robot may also determine a target yaw for the body, where the target yaw for the body is between the measured yaw for the body and the requested yaw for the body. The robot may then cause the foot to rotate the body to the target yaw for the body.
