  • Patent number: 8554843
Abstract: The method and system of the present invention provides an improved technique for processing email during an unplanned outage. Email messages are redirected from the primary server to a secondary server during an unplanned outage such as, for example, a natural disaster. A notification message is sent to users alerting them that their email messages are available on the secondary server by, for example, Internet access. After the termination of the unplanned outage, email messages received during the unplanned outage are synchronized into the users standard email application.

Abstract: The method and system of the present invention provides an improved technique for providing email to a wireless device during an outage. Email messages are redirected from the primary email system to a secondary email system during an outage such as, for example, a natural disaster. Email messages are accessible from the secondary email system through a wireless device. A notification message is sent to the user's wireless device alerting them that their email messages are available on the secondary email system through their wireless device. After the termination of the outage, email messages received during the outage are synchronized into the users standard email application.

  • Publication number: 20030088567
Abstract: Methods for of providing computer systems bundled with access to restricted-access databases. In one embodiment, a method includes providing a computer system with an authorized access identifier that allows access to a restricted-access database via a computer communication network; and providing the computer system to a user. The user is not required to pay use fees, or seek out a suitable information supplier, thereby improving user satisfaction and productivity. In an alternate embodiment, a method includes providing an access software program for accessing the restricted-access database. In another embodiment, a method includes generating the restricted-access database. Alternately, the generating of the restricted-access database may include storing educational information on a storage device, or transmitting an approximately real-time audio-visual signal. In another embodiment, a method includes updating the restricted-access database.
