  • Publication number: 20090067027
Abstract: The invention in microgravity uses the natural effect of capillary action and surface tension of a liquid substance inside a cylindrical chamber to form a curved meniscus suitable to use in a space telescope. The geometry of the meniscus can be controlled by using a boundary line that fixes the contact point of the meniscus and then controlling the volume of the liquid. The meniscus geometry can then be controlled to form a reflective liquid mirror dish that is suitable to use in a space telescope.

  • Patent number: 7056309
Abstract: The invention is a hygienic cover for ones finger to prevent spreading microorganisms. The invention has an inner flexible microorganism impervious layer. Additionally, the invention would have an outer absorbent layer such as a cotton weave to absorb liquids and bond to mucus. Furthermore, the outer layer can contain and or the entire apparatus can be covered in antiseptic chemicals and or saline solutions to insure the outer layer is free of any microorganisms. Additionally, the invention would have one or more tabs that can be grasped by ones other hand to aid in the application and removal of the invention.

  • Patent number: 6523785
Abstract: The present invention provides an attitude control actuation apparatus and method to perform reaction wheel desaturation. Two or more reaction wheels are used for each of the three axis. The two reaction wheels are used to perform a simple cost effective electric powered desaturation or slowing of the reaction wheels by exchanging momentum with each other.

  • Patent number: 6041737
Abstract: A litter box trainer apparatus (10) comprising a litter box (11) attached to the top of a scale (12) which outputs the weight of the litter box (11) to the computer processing unit (13) which when sensing a weight increase which would indicate a cat defecated or urinated in the litter box (11) signals the treat dispenser (14) to dispense a treat for the cat, also the praise display (15) is signaled to display a praise. The user interface keypad (16) is used to turn the apparatus on and off, and also to program the apparatus (10). The invention is designed to train a cat to use a litter box and also to give a cat the incentive to consistently use the litter box.
