  • Patent number: 10095320
Abstract: An accessory is provided for disposing on an electronic device, which has a plurality of device elements disposed adjacent to one edge of the electronic device. the accessory comprises a cover having a plurality of cover elements disposed in the cover. When one of the cover elements is not attached to the one of the device elements along the other edge of the electronic device, the cover is flipped along the one edge of the electronic device and the cover elements along the one edge attracted to the cover element along the corresponding edge of the cover. A control method is also provided for controlling an electronic device according to a movement of a portion of the accessory relative to the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10095198
Abstract: The disclosure provides a closed-loop controller for a controlled system comprising a comparison element generating an error e, a compensator generating a control uN value based on the error e, and a control allocator determining a manipulated parameter uM value based on the control uN. The control allocator typically utilizes a control effectiveness function and determines uM value by selecting one or more specific system x0 signals from the system state xi or system input yj values or system parameters values pk reported, defining a plurality of distributed xD around each specific system x0 signal, and minimizing an error function E(zi), where the error function E(zi) is based on errors which arise from use of the plurality of distributed xD in the control effectiveness function rather than one or more specific system x0 signals.

  • Publication number: 20180278908
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system configured to present primary and secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content to a user. Primary virtual reality content may be displayed to a user, and, responsive to the user turning his view away from the primary virtual reality content, a sensory cue is provided to the user that indicates to the user that his view is no longer directed toward the primary virtual reality content, and secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content may be displayed to the user. Primary virtual reality content may resume when the user returns his view to the primary virtual reality content. Primary virtual reality content may be adjusted based on a user's interaction with the secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content. Secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content may be adjusted based on a user's progression through the primary virtual reality content, or interaction with the primary virtual reality content.

  • Publication number: 20180257821
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a thermoplastic drawstring trash bag wherein the thermoplastic drawstring trash bag has an enhanced thickness region in one or more panels of the drawstring trash bag. The enhanced thickness region has an average thickness that is greater than the thickness of the remaining portions of the panels forming the drawstring trash bag. The enhanced thickness region is generally in the area of the hems and traverses the hem seals.

  • Patent number: 10065312
Abstract: The disclosure provides a robotic arm controller which determines a control parameter for at least one actuator comprising the robotic arm using a control equation having the general form Ax=b, where A is a transformation matrix A based on the geometry and Jacobian of the robotic arm, x is the control parameter x such as a torque vector at a specific joint, and b is the end effector parameter b which specifies a desired corrective state of the end effector. The methodology, by way of constructing and solving an unscented optimization problem, provides a solution to the Ax=b problem by perturbing at least one joint angle appearing in the Jacobian to generate a plurality of distributed joint angles, determining a control parameter x which minimizes an error function.

  • Publication number: 20180224928
Abstract: A system and/or method that uses a body posture of a user to determine and modulate a content mode of a virtual reality system. The content mode may define the manner in which virtual reality content is presented to the user and/or the manner in which the user interacts with the virtual reality content. The user's body posture and/or a change in body posture may cause the content mode and/or the virtual reality content to change accordingly. In some implementations, primary content may be presented to the user according to a first content mode in response to the user sitting. Secondary virtual reality content may be presented to the user according to the second content mode in response to the user standing. As such, a user may initiate a change in the virtual reality content and/or the content mode by standing from a sitting posture and/or sitting from a standing posture.

  • Patent number: 9950232
Abstract: A device for resisting and guiding a movement of a player's leading fore-arm during a sporting action. The device comprises a sleeve made of stretchable material configured to removably cover the player's forearm and upper arm, and a secondary patch of stretchable material attached to the posterior side of the sleeve. The secondary patch comprises at least two channels extending substantially along the length of the sleeve one either side of the elbow point, and which are adapted to house biasing means therein. The biasing means provide adjustable tension to resist the flexion movements of the player's fore-arm during the sporting action and maintaining the forearm in a straight, fully-extended position relative to the upper arm when the user relaxes the musculature in the forearm encased by the sleeve.
