  • Patent number: 5497895
Abstract: Transport containers are known that comprise walls (10, 10'; 12) and a floor (11). The side walls (10, 10') are connected to one another by frame parts (20). The walls (10) of these containers are made of plywood, chipboard or sheet metal. A considerable enhancement of shock resistance, in particular resistance to damage by sharp-edged objects, can be achieved by constructing the walls (10, 10', 12) of sandwich panels comprising two outer face layers and a honeycomb core connecting them, such that the cells of the honeycomb extend perpendicular to the face layers.

  • Patent number: 5116635
Abstract: A process is disclosed for controlling the furnace temperature in a manufacture of phenolic resin-treated honeycomb structures from paper webs. The phenolic resin-treated honeycomb structures from the paper webs are, preferably, glued together and shaped to a body. Such body is immersed into a solution of a phenolic resin mixture and subsequently dried and cured in an indirectly heated furnace. The immersion and drying/curing steps may be repeated several times and take place at a temperature in the range of 70.degree. C. to 110.degree. C., except for the last drying/curing step, which takes place at a temperature in the range of 145.degree. C. to 155.degree. C. For controlling the temperature, the substances contained in an air mixture exiting from the furnace are preferably condensed and subjected to fractionated distillation with the temperature of the furnace preferably being adjusted, based upon the quantities of organic and/or inorganic compounds obtained.

  • Patent number: 4166549
Abstract: A wide-necked barrel made of synthetic resin has a removable lid that has a lip-like inner rim axially interfitting into the barrel neck and an edge externally overlapping the barrel neck. The external edge of the lid has spaced extensions that extend obliquely downward and that receive between them projections integrally molded into the barrel neck, so that the upper side of the extensions and the under side of the projections of the barrel neck form a circumferentially extending V-slot that receives a tightening ring. The projections of the barrel neck are trapezoidal as seen in side elevation; and inside the barrel neck, at the location of the spaces between those trapezoidal projections, the material of the barrel neck is compressed into an annular series of supporting beads for the lip-like inner rim of the lid.

  • Patent number: 4135636
Abstract: A liquid container with an outlet pipe has a closure for the outlet pipe comprising a cap screw and a closure element disposed between the outlet pipe and the cap screw. The closure element has an integral sealing diaphragm across its bore, which diaphragm may be ruptured to initiate flow of the liquid. The sealing diaphragm has a cup-shaped depression at its periphery. The cap screw has a coarse thread on one side that mates with screw threads on the outlet pipe, and a finer thread on the other side for receiving a flow control member. The cap screw has an internal flange between the two sets of screw threads, which contacts an external flange on the closure element. The cap screw carries an external screw engageable with the container to prevent undesired rotation of the cap screw.
