    Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for facilitating Internet-based communication between educators and parents. In the context of a method, an example embodiment includes populating a database with one or more communications associated with one or more students and categorized within one or more alert categories, and one or more action plans associated with one or more parents and at least one of the one or more alert categories. The method includes detecting occurrence of a triggering event corresponding to a particular communication in the database, and identifying one or more parents impacted by the particular communication. The method thereafter includes retrieving one or more action plans for the one or more parents impacted by the particular communication, and causing transmission of one or more notification messages based on the retrieved one or more action plans. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
