The second body portion has a second width dimension in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction that is greater than the first width dimension. The first body portion and the second body portion cooperate to form a shoulder that prevents the second body portion from passing through the opening in the support plate. The first body portion or the second body portion includes means for preventing rotation of the thermostat retainer in the opening in the support plate.
