  • Patent number: 11651115
Abstract: In implementations of prefabricated building components based on municipal and county codes, a housing design requirement describing a limitation on a dimension of a housing feature is identified. A housing design of a house is generated to comply with the identified limitation on the dimension, and the housing design is configured to be manufactured using a prefabricated component. The housing design is refined by adjusting design dimensions based on stock dimensions of subcomponents of the prefabricated component, and a refined housing design is generated based on the adjustments to the design dimensions.

  • Publication number: 20230148281
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided. The aerosol delivery device includes a power source, an aerosol production component, a sensor to produce measurements of atmospheric air pressure in an air flow path through at least one housing, and a switch coupled to and between the power source and the aerosol production component. The aerosol delivery device also includes processing circuitry that determines a difference between the measurements of atmospheric air pressure and a reference atmospheric air pressure. Only when the difference is at least a threshold difference, the processing circuitry outputs a signal to cause the switch to switchably connect and disconnect an output voltage from the power source to the aerosol production component to adjust power provided to the aerosol production component to a power target that is variable according to a predetermined relationship between the difference and the power target.

  • Patent number: 11645260
Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.

  • Publication number: 20230124339
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a control body adapted for use in an electronic smoking article. The control body includes a shell and a coupler that is adapted to connect the control body to a cartridge of an electronic smoking article. The coupler further is adapted to communicate a pressure reduction within the coupler to a pressure reduction space in the shell. Also positioned within the shell is an electronic circuit board having a pressure sensor attached thereto. The electronic circuit board can be positioned to be parallel to a central axis of the shell. A first end of the pressure sensor can be isolated within the pressure reduction space, and a second end of the pressure sensor can be in communication with a normal pressure space within the shell. One or more light emitting diodes can be attached to the electronic circuit board. At least a portion of the coupler can be light transmissive so that light from the LED is visible through the coupler.

  • Patent number: 11618067
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to remedying a non-conforming feature of an aluminum alloy part. A method may include identifying a yield strength as a function of temperature for a designation of the aluminum alloy part, determining a stress to be applied to the feature to re-form the non-conforming feature to within a dimensional tolerance, correlating the stress to the identified yield strength to determine a process temperature of the part upon applying the stress to the feature, determining a time duration for applying the stress to the feature at the determined process temperature, and applying the stress to the feature of the part, the feature being restrained to oppose the stress, while heating the feature to the determined process temperature, and maintaining the application of the stress and the heat to the feature for the time duration in order to reform the restrained feature to within the dimensional tolerance.

  • Patent number: 11614720
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes a power source, a heating element, a switch coupled to and between the power source and the heating element, and processing circuitry coupled to the switch. The processing circuitry outputs a PWM signal during a heating time period to cause the switch to switchably connect and disconnect the output voltage to the heating element to power the heating element. The processing circuitry outputs a pulse of known current to the heating element, and measure voltage across the heating element, between adjacent pulses of the PWM signal. And the processing circuitry calculates the resistance of the heating element based on the known current and the voltage, calculates the temperature of the heating element based on the resistance, and adjusts a duty cycle of the PWM signal when the temperature deviates from a predetermined target.

  • Publication number: 20230090451
Abstract: Bridge systems and methods for constructing bridges having overhang surfaces employing generally rectangular, precast, prestressed concrete panels. One method includes delivering a plurality of generally rectangular, precast, prestressed concrete panels to an installation site, and delivering one or more support beams to the installation site, each support beam having a support and a base. The concrete panels are positioned on the supports of the one or more support beams with an overhang panel section and a traffic panel section. The concrete panels are then connected to the support beams by positioning steel reinforcement in block outs or voids, pouring unsolidified concrete into the voids, and curing the unsolidified concrete to form an overhang traffic surface. Bridges constructed employing the precast, prestressed concrete panels and methods. Other bridge systems employ prestressed concrete L-walls and double-T members, where weight-bearing L-walls have pockets for webs of the double-T members.

  • Patent number: 11605055
Abstract: Novel distractorless authorship verification technology optionally combines with novel algorithms to solve authorship attribution as to an open set of candidates—such as without limitation by analyzing the voting of “mixture of experts” and outputting the result to a user using the following: if z (z=pi?pj? pi+pj?(pi?pj)2/n) is larger than a first predetermined threshold then author j cannot be the correct author; or if z (z=pi?pj? pi+pj?(pi?pj)2/n) is smaller than a second predetermined threshold then author i cannot be the correct author; or if no author garners significantly more votes than all other contenders then none of the named authors is the author of a document in question—in a number of novel applications. Personality profiling and authorship attribution may also be used to verify user identity to a computer.
