  • Patent number: 6085810
Abstract: A sandbag filler assembly for attachment to an axially movable filler-material source container. The assembly includes a filler chute for delivery of filler material into the sandbag, with the chute having a first open end and a second open end opposite the first end. The first open end has an attachment connection connectable to be in flow communication with a delivery conduit of the source container. An axially compressible sandbag, open at one end and closed at an opposite end, is placeable in a compressed configuration around the filler chute such that the filler chute is within the sandbag with the closed end of the sandbag generally adjacent the second open end of the filler chute. An adjustable sandbag retainer is provided for selective retention and release of the sandbag from around the filler chute as the sandbag has introduced therein filler material to thereby cause sequential movement of sandbag segments from the filler chute.

  • Patent number: 5881729
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an ear plug for preventing water and wind from entering the ear canal while allowing audible tones to pass therethrough. The ear plug is provided with an ear plug housing which is provided with an outer member and an inner portion. The outer member is adapted to reside in the outer ear of the user and an elongate tubular member having an exterior portion adapted to extend downwardly within the ear canal of the user. The ear plug is further provided with an ear plug insert. The ear plug insert is provided with a retaining member which is generally annular, a membrane which is made of a water impervious material and is adapted to allow audible tones to pass therethrough, and an insert housing which is generally annular. The insert housing is provided with a first end which is axially disposable in the interior portion of the elongate tubular member which is adapted to receive the first end of the insert housing.

  • Patent number: 5573259
Abstract: A bicycle trailer comprising an elongate support member having proximal and distal ends, the distal end having a wheel depending therefrom and the proximal end being attachable, via a connector, to a conventional bicycle. In a preferred embodiment, the elongate support member is pivotally connected to the connector. The connector is mountable to a seat post of the bicycle and is further configured to allow the support member to rotate relative to the seat post. The support member includes at least one rack member attached thereto upon which objects may be placed and secured.

  • Patent number: 4886054
Abstract: A brace for supporting a joint formed of a plurality of joint members is disclosed. The brace includes first and second frame members disposed on opposite sides of the joint to be supported, and first and second hinge members disposed substantially adjacent the joint and connected to the frame members to pivot the frame members about the joint. The frame members may be formed of separable portions engageable with each other at variable locations along the length thereof. Adjustment of the engagement location being effective to vary the orientation of at least one of the frame member portions with respect to at least one of the hinges. The brace is therefore adjustable to conform to lateral curvature of the joint members. The hinge members may be formed to regulate rotation of at least one of the frame members about the joint to provide close support to the joint members during unlocking of the joint.

  • Patent number: 4441564
Abstract: A hole drilling machine which includes a geared stationary drill frame with a guide track to which support legs are attached at either end. A drive shaft made of hollow flexible tubing driven by a motor suspended from the guide track. An adjustable swivel axel to which the drill end is mounted. The drill end is a hollow tube with openings in an end to permit streams of water to wash loose soil out of the hole and assist in the drilling process and a helical knife edge attached thereto. An angled metal piece with exit holes to permit the flow of water is attached to the working end.
