  • Publication number: 20190090862
Abstract: Anchor needles and methods of anchoring an anchor needle to target tissue are provided. An anchor needle may be adapted to be arranged in a tissue-anchoring configuration in which: an anchor cannula lock is arranged in a locked anchor cannula configuration that prevents an anchor cannula from longitudinally translating relative to a cannula support; and an outer cannula is longitudinally positioned relative to the anchor cannula so that the anchor cannula allows tissue to be drawn through the transverse slot by the vacuum. A method may include, while applying a vacuum to an anchor cannula lumen adapted to transmit the vacuum to a distal end of the anchor cannula, longitudinally translating an outer cannula relative to an anchor cannula from a blocking configuration to an exposing configuration in which the anchor cannula allows target tissue to be drawn through a transverse slot in the outer cannula by the vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20180014717
Abstract: An adaptor and method for connecting a medical device to an endoscope are provided where the adaptor and the endoscope have non-compatible connectors. The adaptor includes a first portion including a proximal end portion having a mating connector for connecting to the elongate medical device and a distal end adapted to operably connect to an accessory channel of the endoscope. The first portion also includes a flange positioned distal to the mating connector and having a diameter greater than a diameter of the mating connector and a tubular body extending distally from the flange to the distal end, the tubular body being sized and shaped for insertion at least partially into the accessory channel. A lumen of the first portion extends through the first portion from the proximal end portion to the distal end where the lumen is adapted to receive a portion of the medical device therethrough.

  • Patent number: 9855403
Abstract: A medical device includes an elongate single-wire memory-metal body with a complete length that includes a proximal stylet length, an intermediate self-coiling stylet length, and a distal stylet length that is generally straight and non-self-coiling. The moment of force of the self-coiling stylet length is less than the moment of force of the medical endoscopy needle that is resistant to the stylet's self-coiling force. The device may further include being incorporated into an endoscopy needle system where the single-wire stylet body is disposed through a lumen of a medical endoscopy needle.

The at least one longitudinal lumen may be configured to provide access for at least one of a wire guide, a therapeutic tool, a diagnostic tool, a medicament, and/or contrast fluid. The body may be configured with sufficient length and flexibility to be extended out of and operated through a working channel of a surgical endoscope. The body further includes one or more wires embedded in, and secured substantially immovably relative to, the outer wall. A distal end of the body includes a needle tip configured with at least one sharpened surface configured to penetrate into body tissue.

  • Patent number: 9289231
Abstract: A medical device is provided, configured to access a target site within a patient body. The device may be provided as a kit including pre-assembled components. Embodiments of the device include an elongate flexible access needle including a needle lumen disposed through at least a longitudinal length of the needle; an elongate wire guide pre-loaded into at least a lengthwise portion of the needle lumen and extending to at least near a distal end of the needle end; and a needle sheath including a longitudinal sheath lumen through which the access needle is disposed; where the distal needle end comprises a piercing tip configured for penetrating tissue to access a target site. A method of use is provided where the needle may be withdrawn over the pre-loaded wire guide after it has been directed to a target site and the sheath as been advanced over the needle's distal end, in a manner freeing the wire guide for further guidance or direction, and for introduction of another device along the wire guide.
