  • Patent number: 9597568
Abstract: A target device for registering a hit by a thrown object such as a flying disc is provided and includes a pylon assembly, an interceptor, and a receipt component. The pylon assembly, the interceptor, and the receipt component are operatively associated with one another such that a movement of the pylon assembly from its operating disposition to its stowage disposition operates to move the interceptor and the receipt component axially closer to the base axial end of the pylon assembly and, when the pylon assembly is in its stowage disposition, the interceptor has been moved from its intercepting position into its non-intercepting position, and the receipt component has been moved from its flared position into its pack position, the interceptor and the receipt component at least partially axially overlap one another.

  • Publication number: 20120123736
Abstract: A system for estimating or calculating grade variations of a ground surface is provided that is convenient to use and provides data of sufficient precision for the estimating or calculating process. The system can be deployed for estimating or calculating grade variations in connection with the placement and installation of fences, gates, pools, drainage, steps, decks, patios, contour features, ponds, driveways, and other site improvements. In addition to a deployment of the system to quickly establish and/or verify elevations of outdoor features, the system can be deployed to quickly establish and/or verify elevations in a building structure for installing cabinets, countertops, or alternating current outlets.

  • Patent number: 7081032
Abstract: A flying disc for use in recreational activities and sports, such as for catch and throw, Ultimate, disc golf, and the like. The flying disc is configured for enhanced flight characteristics, throwability, trick shot capability and durability. The flying disc includes a circular flight deck section and an outer rim connected thereto. Contoured features are provided in a pattern in the flight deck section. The contoured features define cavities in the flight deck section and protrude beneath the flight deck section. The contoured features provide a variety of gripping positions on the top and bottom of the disc for generating greater snapping force when releasing the disc. The contoured features also create a Coanda effect that stabilizes the disc during flight. And, since the contoured features are recessed from the top of the flight deck section, the advantages of flight stability are achieved without a loss of flight distance.

  • Patent number: 6776417
Abstract: A disc golf target having an improved configuration for providing uniform, more consistent disc capture. The target includes a canopy assembly and a basket assembly attached to a center pole. A tripod base is used to support the target. A chain assembly is attached between the canopy and basket assemblies for absorbing kinetic energy from an incoming disc thereby capturing the disc. The chain assembly includes a continuous upper chain, attached to the canopy assembly and extending 360 degrees, a plurality of deflection members hanging from the upper chains, and a continuous lower chain functionally coupled to the lower end of said deflection members. The deflection members are attached to the canopy and basket assemblies in an alternating pattern in which a first deflection members are attached at the canopy assembly and adjacent second deflection members are attached at the basket assembly. The canopy and basket assemblies are quickly collapsible.
