  • Publication number: 20230228645
Abstract: A device and method for detecting water leaks in building structures relies on sonic and spectral density analyses of sound distortions caused by a subsurface water leak. Structurally, the device includes a microphone connected with a sound amplifier. Also included is a head set and/or a sound analyzer which are respectively connected with the amplifier. In this combination, the microphone is moved across a surface in the building structure to detect an audio signal that is indicative of a subsurface water leak. This audio signal is then aurally evaluated using the headset to identify a sound distortion relative to white noise, or it is visually evaluated by reference to a spectral density presentation of frequencies on the sound analyzer. Operationally, a location of the water leak is determined by moving the microphone along a search pattern of trace lines over the surface being searched until there is a meaningful response.

  • Publication number: 20220237563
Abstract: A system and method for processing an insurance claim for property damages suffered by a claimant, first requires a field investigation to collect information. This information includes a property description, maps, sketches and photographs of damage to the property and supporting documentation. In-house personnel of the insurance carrier then factorize the information to identify a probable cause and an origin of the damages. If it is determined the property damages are an unexpected loss, the resultant factors are coalesced into a cause and origin report for further use in appraising the claim. In accordance with the present invention, all actions for creating the ultimate appraisal are performed by in-house personnel.

  • Publication number: 20200094862
Abstract: A motorized apparatus is provided to lift, tilt and transport heavy tank-like objects such as water heaters. Structurally, the apparatus includes a hitching assembly which can be engaged with an elongated tank to hold it on the apparatus. A guide rail, which is mounted for rotation around a pivot point on a chassis of the apparatus, is also engaged with the hitching assembly. Screw-drives, which are engaged between the guide rail and the hitching assembly, are activated to move the hitching assembly in translation on the guide rail. Also, a screw-drive, which is engaged between the chassis and the guide rail, is activated to rotate the hitching assembly and tank together around the pivot point on the chassis. Further, drive wheels on the apparatus can be selectively activated to transport the entire apparatus.
