  • Publication number: 20240126411
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, a device, a system, and/or manufacture of electronic book enhancement. In one embodiment, a device includes a housing, a book coupler to secure a book to the housing, a page detection sensor generating a page signal usable to determine an open page of the book, a computer processor, a computer readable memory, and an audio output device. The computer readable memory stores an audio dataset including one or more page UIDs, one or more associated audio files, and an audio routine that includes computer readable instructions that when executed receive the page signal from the page detection sensor, determine a page UID for the open page, query the audio dataset for the audio file associated with the page UID, and generate an audio signal of the audio file on the audio output device to enhance a reading experience of the book based on the open page.

  • Publication number: 20240127708
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, a device, a system, and/or manufacture of electronic enhancement of a book for shared learning and/or interactive experience. In one embodiment a method includes designating a set of two or more enhancement units, e.g., a book GUID corresponding to a unique printed copy of a book and/or an enhancement device UID in combination with a book UID corresponding to any printed copy. The method generates a group UID and associates two or more enhancement units to form a group. The method generates an audio dataset through selecting the page UID of a page, receiving a first audio signal, storing the first audio signal, generating the audio dataset, and associating the page UID and the audio file such that the book can be sound enhanced for a user of the group. The method detects a network connection from an enhancement unit and transmits the audio dataset.

  • Publication number: 20200026535
Abstract: A computer-based system processes presentations into a universal display protocol with full fidelity to the original files. The system launches a presentation utilizing native presentation software on a recorded machine, sends a series of common user actions to the presentation software, detects the beginning and end of each action's effect, and records each action's associated video segment for future playback. Playback involves playing the recorded video segments in response to user inputs received during that playback.

  • Patent number: 10520510
Abstract: The technology of the present application is directed to methods and kits for detecting and quantifying a non-polar analyte in a plant-derived sample. The technology uses a simple extraction, e.g., a liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) or solid-phase extraction (SPE), to enrich a sample for a non-polar analyte of interest and to remove contaminants. After the extraction and clean-up steps, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry are used to detect the non-polar analyte. In one embodiment, acequinocyl and/or its derivatives is analyzed using liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and the improved LC-MS/MS conditions allows detection limits of acequinocyl and/or its derivatives of 50 ppb or less.

  • Publication number: 20180214332
Abstract: The disclosure includes a maxillofacial rehabilitation device, comprising a frame and a dynamic actuation mechanism coupled to the frame. The frame can be configured to attach the device to the head of a user. The dynamic actuation mechanism can be configured to contact the mandible of the user, receive control signals from a controller, and move the mandible of the user in the sagittal plane and the vertical plane based on the control signals.

  • Patent number: 5415557
Abstract: A tap-off base assembly of the present invention provides protection against the ingress of dust and liquids into an electrical busway distribution system of the type having access openings for receiving power tap-off devices. The tap-off base assembly includes a base molded from an electrically insulating material and a pivotally attached door. A tap-off opening seal is placed on the housing around the tap-off opening. The base is slidably received in the busway tap-off opening such that the seal is compressed thereby sealing the tap-off opening. The base has a planar outside surface which includes a number of access openings. Each access opening provides access to one the electrical conductors contained within the busway housing. The door may be selectively moved between an open position which provides access to the electrical conductors and a closed position which prohibits access to the conductors.

  • Patent number: 5414584
Abstract: The present invention discloses a gas venting system for use in metallic enclosures housing electrical circuit breakers of the type having gas vents in the circuit breaker case for venting gases produced during the interruption of a fault current. The enclosure includes one or more covers which provide access to the interior of the enclosure and one or more vents through which the circuit breaker gases can exit the enclosure. The gas venting system includes a gas chute made from an electrically nonconductive and substantially flame retardant material. The gas chute is generally tubular and hollow in shape and has a breaker end aperture and at lease one vent end aperture. The apertures communicate with one another through the hollow gas chute.
