  • Patent number: 6272717
Abstract: A wiper apparatus employed in a windshield wiper system for supporting a pair of wiper elements via a wiper drive arm pivotably mounted proximate a vehicle windshield. The wiper apparatus comprises a drive arm attachment member adapted to be coupled with the wiper drive arm. In one embodiment, a pivot arm is pivotably secured to the drive arm attachment member about a pivot axis which intersects the windshield. The pivot arm is configured to carry the pair of wiper elements such that each of the wiper elements moves over a corresponding first arcuate path when the drive arm is rotated in a first direction and moves over a corresponding second arcuate path when the drive arm is rotated in an opposite direction. Each of the first and second paths of a first wiper element is different from each of the first and second paths of a second wiper element.

  • Patent number: 6247711
Abstract: A sulky that comprises an upper support having a seat attached thereto via a seat support member and further having at each end an outer frame member and an inner frame member; a pair of axles, each of which are disposed between one of the outer and the inner frame members, and onto which are rotatably mounted, via a wheel hub, a pair of wheels; a pair of shafts for harnessing the sulky to a horse, each of the shafts having a pivot connection along its length; and a pair of fork assemblies, each having a pair of forks which are joined at one end so as to be pivotably secured to the pivot connection along one of the shafts. The unjoined ends of the forks are rotatably connected to one of the axles on opposite sides of the wheel hub. The wheels are configured to pivot around said pivot connection upon the exertion of a sideways displacement force at the wheels. In one embodiment of the invention, each of the pair of axles is horizontally slidably secured to the outer and inner frame members.

  • Patent number: 5946765
Abstract: A double pivot windshield wiper attachment apparatus including a drive arm attachment member configured to be received upon a conventional windshield wiper drive arm and adapted to receive two windshield wiper elements which are pivotally connected to the windshield wiper drive arm attachment member. As the windshield wiper drive arm is actuated back and forth across the windshield, the pivotal connection of the windshield wiper elements to the drive arm attachment member permits the windshield wiper elements to be translatable over a range defined by a first upper position and a second lower position such that the windshield wiper elements cover a greater area of the windshield so as to provide improved cleaning and enhanced visibility.

  • Patent number: 4817975
Abstract: There is disclosed in one aspect, a self-aligning sulky with independently pivotable wheels which may be pivoted through a full 360 degree rotation. The pivotable wheels provide a sulky that provides less rolling resistance and greater resistance to tipping. In another aspect, the racing sulky is provided with steering means to alter the orientation of at least one of said wheels relative to the frame of said sulky. In yet another aspect, a suspension means for the wheels is provided.
