Abstract: A method of settling a transaction comprises the following elements. First of all, a class of transactions for a merchant that create an obligation to a third party is established. This class of transactions is notified to a settlement system. When the merchant conducts a transaction from the class the settlement system is notified, directly or indirectly, with a suitable message. The settlement system settles the transaction, when authorised, as a split settlement directly with the merchant or its acquiring bank and directly with the third party or its acquiring bank. Suitable apparatus and systems for implementation of such methods are described.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of transferring information in an electronic transaction between a first entity and a second entity. The method comprises: sending, by a first system 101 of the first entity, information relating to the transaction to an administrating system 102, wherein the information is transferred as a pre-payment operation; transferring by the administrating system 102, in dependence on a determination that the transaction is authorised, the received information from the first system 101 to a second system 103, wherein the second system 103 is a system of the second entity and the information is transferred as a pre-payment operation; wherein, the first system 101 is located in a first country and the second system 103 located in a second country such that the transaction is a cross-border transaction.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing payment card transactions for a payment card using a payment card processing system are disclosed. Method for processing one or more payment card transactions for a payment card using a payment processing system in communication with a computer readable storage medium includes receiving an authorization request from an acquirer and a corresponding authorization response from a card issuer, the authorization response including a status identifier for the payment card, associating the payment card with a payment card listing based on the status identifier, the payment card listing indicating transaction processing information relating to the payment card, and storing the payment card listing in the computer readable storage medium.
