  • Publication number: 20140088275
Abstract: A novel process for the manufacture of a mixed catalyst system by combining a Ziegler catalyst and a tridentate iron complex is described, which is characterized in that the reaction of a tridentate ligand with an iron compound is performed in an organic solvent containing less than 10 percent by weight, based on the total amount of the organic solvent, of electron donor compounds selected from the group consisting of ethers, aliphatic esters, aromatic esters, tertiary amines, amides, silanes, silazanes or orthoesters.

  • Patent number: 7544825
Abstract: A method for making siloxy-bridged ligand precursors and metallocene complexes is disclosed. Indanone enolates react with cyclopentadienylsilyl compounds to produce ligand precursors, which are reacted with a Group 3-10 transition metal source to generate metallocene complexes. The method provides simple, regioselective access to particular siloxy-bridged metallocenes starting from easily elaborated indanones.
