Patent number: 5741142Abstract: A field bus connection module for coupling a local bus conductor to an associated field bus system includes a housing formed from functionally different, alignable terminal blocks, and spacing elements. The terminal blocks comprise a feed block and a grounded conductor block. Removably connected with the housing is at least one functional printed circuit board. Removal of the functional printed circuit board necessarily interrupts a separable connection between the local bus conductor and the field bus, although the field bus continues to be connected to the functional printed circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1995Date of Patent: April 21, 1998Assignee: Weidmuller Interface GmbH & Co.Inventors: Dietmar Dux, Walter Hanning, Uwe Fiene, Michael Schnatwinkel, Rudolf Steinmeier, Manfred Wilmes, Christian Hamann, Eckhard Beins, Christoph Zebermann, Hans-Georg Glathe, Martin Herms, Matthiass Liesenjohann, Stefan Steinkamper, Bernhard Schuster, Gerhard Eggert

Patent number: 5655922Abstract: In this modular control assembly, individual bus conductor segments are integrated in modular, alignable housing blocks. The bus conductor segments have strip conductors on the upper and lower surfaces thereof. The bus conductor segments of mutually adjoining housing blocks are electrically connected by separating slide contact members. The contact members comprise a closed housing containing upper and lower contact springs for engaging the strip conductors of the bus conductor segment. The slide contact members can be pushed between an extended position in which they grasp the mutually facing ends of bus conductor segments (8) of neighboring housing blocks and a retracted position in which only one bus conductor segment is covered by the slide contact member.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1995Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Assignee: Weidmuller Interface GmbHInventors: Dietmar Dux, Walter Hanning, Uwe Fiene, Michael Schnatwinkel, Rudolf Steinmeier, Manfred Wilmes, Christian Hamann, Thomas Hettwer, Christoph Zebermann, Hans-Georg Glathe

Patent number: 5651702Abstract: A terminal block assembly with lateral distribution of electrical power includes a plurality of terminal blocks each containing a plurality of interconnected distributor bars. At least one of the distributor bars of a first conductor is directly connected with a main internal bus bar conductor, and one or more of the remaining distributor bars are connected to the main conductor via a bridge member. Each distributor bar includes a terminal having a contact portion and a bus bar laterally spaced from the contact portion, thereby to define a plug-receiving slot therebetween which opens downwardly and receives either the main conductor or a plug-in link portion of the bridge. The contact portion of the terminal bus bars extends laterally in the direction of adjacent terminal blocks for connection with distributor bars contained within the adjacent terminal blocks, thereby providing lateral distribution of the electrical supply.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1995Date of Patent: July 29, 1997Assignee: Weidmuller Interface GmbH & Co.Inventors: Walter Hanning, Michael Schnatwinkel, Manfred Wilmes

Patent number: 5615079Abstract: A modular control system for automated buildings includes an assembly of terminal blocks mounted as a unit on a mounting block for supplying electrical power and control signals to and from circuits contained in an electronics module mounted on a support rail, thereby to operate associated components of the building. The terminal block assembly includes symmetrical ground, power-supply, control-signal and end-support terminal blocks connected together as a unit. Signal feed-in occurs on both sides of an electronic module arranged on the terminal block assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1995Date of Patent: March 25, 1997Assignee: Weidmueller Interface GmbH & Co.Inventors: Gerhard Eggert, Walter Hanning, Uwe Fiene, Michael Schnatwinkel, Rudolf Steinmeier, Manfred Wilmes

Patent number: 5588881Abstract: A terminal block and removable electronic module assembly is provided having a movable disconnect member that is displaceable relative to the module between engaged and disengaged positions in which an electronic component carried by the module is electrically connected and disconnected, respectively, relative to terminals carried by the terminal block member. When the disconnect member is in the disconnect position, the electronic module may be tested by a test plug external of the module housing.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1995Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Assignee: Weidmueller Interface GmbH & Co.Inventors: Gerhard Eggert, Walter Hanning, Uwe Fiene, Michael Schnatwinkel, Rudolf Steinmeier, Manfred Wilmes

Patent number: 5338224Abstract: A labelling device for electrical terminal blocks is characterized by a unitary labelling element including a base portion which can be connected with the insulated body of the block and a tag portion connected with the base portion in a swingable manner via a strap hinge. When the tag portion is folded to the closed position, it is connected with the base portion via a pin and aperture press-fit connection. The labelling device can be manufactured in a simple manner with a narrow design and reliably retained in the closed position, whereby it also functions to cover the access openings of the terminal block.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1992Date of Patent: August 16, 1994Assignee: Weidmuller Interface GmbH & Co.Inventors: Uwe Blanke, Hans J. Kern, Friedrich Schmidt, Thomas Hanke, Peter E. Murray, Michael Schnatwinkel, Manfred Wilmes

Patent number: 5171160Abstract: A circuit board clamping assembly is characterized by connector pins (3) for the connection of the circuit board clamp to the circuit board. The clamping assembly furthermore has at least one mounting peg (8) that can be inserted in a corresponding mounting opening of the circuit board. The additional mounting peg facilitates the reliable absorption of forces, such as occur during wiring, at the conductor connections (2, 2a) of the clamping assembly and guarantees a reliable mechanical link between the clamping assembly and printed circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1991Date of Patent: December 15, 1992Assignee: C.A. Weidmuller GmbH & Co.Inventors: Eckhard Beins, Uwe Fiene, Walter Landwehrmann, Thomas Uth, Manfred Wilmes, Michael Schnatwinkel, Klaus Strate

Patent number: 5027538Abstract: A label carrier device for electrical conductors is characterized by a C-shaped rigid carrier member which, after placement on the conductor, grasps the conductor from below. The opening of the carrier member is closed with an elastic extension depending from the carrier member. The extension has a clasping member including upper and lower arms. The upper arm serves as a clamping member for clamping the conductor and also presses the lower arm toward a closed position for closing the carrier member opening.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1990Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Assignee: Weidmuller GmbH & Co.Inventors: Manfred Wilmes, Michael Schnatwinkel, Hartmut Schmode, Jurgen Pampel, Jurgen Matthiass, Klaus Thomalla, Volker Schroder, Friedrich Maris, Karl-Anton Hansmann
