  • Patent number: 8995623
Abstract: A system and method for testing a transmission line to a protected system includes measuring voltages between a tip-side node of an overcurrent protection device and the protected system, between a ring-side node of the overcurrent protection device and the protected system, between the tip of the transmission line and the protected system, and between the ring of the transmission line and the protected system. Using the measured voltages, the status of the overcurrent protection device and the overvoltage device may be recognized, and the magnitude of a voltage surge on either of the tip and ring wires may be determined.

  • Patent number: 7394312
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an amplifier, which is able to re-configure its internal protection circuits based on an output signal level. This allows the amplifier to apply the best protection level to the present operational condition. The protection level or threshold for protecting the amplifier is dynamically adjusted to a lower threshold level, thereby making it more sensitive in certain operating scenarios. In one embodiment of the present invention, a first current protection threshold is used to operate an amplifier in a first state. If an event occurs, the amplifier protection circuit is re-configured and the amplifier continues to operate with a second protection threshold in a second state.

  • Publication number: 20060115101
Abstract: The present invention allows multi-amplifier systems to be implemented, while avoiding the difficulties associated with current multi-amplifier systems. One amplifier is a “master”, which controls the settings a plurality of other amplifiers (the slaves). If an adjustment needs to be made, only the master needs to be adjusted. The amplifier of the present invention is configured to operate in a plurality of modes. In one configuration, the amplifier is set to be in a “master mode”. In another configuration, the amplifier is set to be in a “slave mode”. In yet another configuration, the amplifier is set to be in a “slave-inverse mode”.

  • Patent number: 7008010
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof is provided which includes a roof opening, a movable cover, and a wind deflector coupled to bearing points located laterally with respect to the roof opening such that, in the closed position of the cover, the wind deflector lies between the cover and the roof surface with the deflector's top edge flush with the roof surface. The wind deflector swivels around an axis running through the bearing points when the cover is being opened such that its top edge lies over the fixed roof surface and a side of the wind deflector faces the front edge of the roof opening in any plane which is perpendicular to the swiveling axis. The side of the deflector has a curvature with a radius which corresponds to the distance of the front edge of the roof opening to the swiveling axis of the wind deflector.
