Patent number: 12279743Abstract: A method of using a cleaning robot for improved cleaning of edges of a wall having a projecting baseboard, includes using the robot to strike the baseboard in a first cleaning pass, causing an impact sensor to generate a first signal and a distance sensor to detect a first distance from the wall. The robot continues its first cleaning pass and strikes the baseboard a further time, causing the impact sensor to generate a second signal and the distance sensor to detect a second distance from the wall. A computer of the robot uses the signals to calculate two spatial points and a first straight line running through the points. The computer uses the distances and the two spatial points to establish an approach boundary of the cleaning robot relative to the wall. The computer controls the cleaning robot during subsequent cleaning passes exclusively using the one distance sensor.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2021Date of Patent: April 22, 2025Assignee: BSH Hausgeraete GmbHInventors: Julius Geis, Michael Hohmann, Juri Gebel, Dominik Schreiner

Patent number: 12203247Abstract: A method for operating an on-board water supply and distribution system of an aircraft for supplying water includes a central water tank, first consumer assemblies with buffer tanks each including a heater to heat up water in the buffer tank to a disinfection temperature, pump having upstream and downstream sides to operate in supply and reverse modes, and high-pressure conduit system. The central water tank connects to the pump's upstream side. The conduit system connects the downstream side with a first consumer assembly. The method includes operating the pump in supply mode where water from the central tank goes to a first consumer assembly to fill a buffer tank, operating a buffer tank heater so water heats to a predetermined disinfection temperature, and operating the pump in reverse mode so heated water passes through a part of the conduit system and the upstream side of the pump.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventors: Frank Schneider, Hannes Müller, Axel Schreiner, Tim Lübbert, Frederik Albers, Michael Rempe

Publication number: 20160215992Abstract: A combination air eliminator and flow balancer for a fluid circulation system includes a tank having a supply inlet, a supply outlet, a return inlet and a return outlet. The tank defines an interior having a vertical cylindrical configuration. The supply inlet is located above the supply outlet, the return inlet and the return outlet. The supply inlet introduces fluid into an upper portion of the interior of the tank in a tangential direction to induce rotational downward flow between the supply inlet and the supply outlet, which separates air contained within the fluid. The air migrates upwardly within the tank interior and is vented.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2015Publication date: July 28, 2016Inventors: Michael Schreiner, Mark Olson
