  • Publication number: 20050202933
Abstract: A heat exchanger integrated into the transmission oil pan transfers heat from post-catalyst exhaust gases to the transmission oil. Inlet and outlet ducts route exhaust gas between the heat exchanger and an exhaust pipe located downstream of the catalyst. The exhaust pipe accommodates a control valve that diverts exhaust gas flow to the heat exchanger during the warm-up phase, or to the tailpipe during steady state operation. A control function is provided to monitor transmission oil temperature and engine operating conditions and to control actuation of the valve. The main input parameter to the control function is the transmission oil temperature.

  • Patent number: 6898312
Abstract: Color correction method for correcting the colors of photographic images represented by image data, said image data defining color values, comprising the steps of: a) providing a set of distributions of color values in a color space, b) selecting one or more reference parts of the image to be corrected, each of said one or more reference parts having at least one color value; c) assigning one of said set of distributions to each selected reference part of said one or more reference parts; d) determining a transformation for transforming the at least one color value of the one or more reference parts such that the transformed at least one color value at least approximately matches the color values of the one or more assigned distributions or matches the color values of those distributions better than the at least one untransformed color value; e) transforming the color values of the image data by means of the determined transformation to achieve a corrected image.

  • Publication number: 20020150291
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for correcting at least one color of a photographic image including at least one pattern area or image pattern with a predictably known color or memory color, said image being transferred to a digital representation, wherein the method comprises the following steps: said at least one pattern area or image pattern is being detected with respect to its presence and its location, and preferably also with respect to its dimensions; an existing color in the at least one detected pattern area or image pattern is being determined; at least one replacement color value (memory color) is being provided, said value being related to the respective at least one pattern area or image pattern and the determined existing color is replaced by said at least one replacement color value, to correct the color in the image pattern or image area.

  • Patent number: 6197370
Abstract: An apparatus to coat cylinder bores with precise thickness and adhesion having a nozzle for effecting a hollow conical spray pattern of an emulsion about an axis, a highly pressurized supply of emulsion to the nozzle, the emulsion containing solid lubricant in fluid suspension and means for controllably moving the nozzle within the cylinder bore to deposit a coating of the emulsion in the thickness range of 8-13 microns. A method for coating cylinder bores includes preparing the cylinder bore surface to expose fresh metal free of contamination, generating a hollow conical spray consisting of fine mist droplets of a solid lubricant emulsion (the conical spray having an effective base with a diameter greater than the diameter of the cylinder bore), and moving the apex of the conical spray along the axis of the bore at a uniform speed to deposit a coating of the emulsion on the interior of such cylinder bore in a thickness no greater than 20 microns.

  • Patent number: 4880077
Abstract: A base for a loudspeaker enclosure is formed of a lower base disk, an upper support disk and an interposed spacer element which together define an internal hollow space to which structure-borne sound is transmitted. The area of contact between the spacer element and the disks is relatively small is comparison to the area of the disks which defines the hollow space at top and bottom sides thereof. In a preferred embodiment, the disks are formed of a sound-insulating material, preferably rubber, and the spacer element is a spacer ring that peripherally defines the hollow space. Also, a bracing foot, preferably of an inverted frustoconical shape, may be carried upon the upper support disk, for which purpose a support plate is centrally mounted thereon.
