  • Patent number: 7182189
Abstract: A spring strut support bearing, has a top bearing that can be affixed by its inner ring to the front end of an automobile, e.g. to the end of a piston rod of a shock absorber facing a vehicle body. The inner ring is surrounded by an outer ring with radial clearance; at least one elastic spring element made of rubber-elastic material is arranged in a gap formed by the clearance. The outer ring is disposed in a stationary manner with respect to the vehicle body; and only the component of the loading force of the shock absorber extending through the elastic spring element of the top bearing reaches the vehicle body. The inner ring has on each of its two end faces at least one elastically flexible stop buffer for limiting extreme deflection movements in moving direction of the shock absorber, the stop buffers each having the capability of being brought into contact with counter stop faces.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 20, 2003
Date of Patent: February 27, 2007
    Assignee: Carl Freudenberg KG
    Inventor: Michael Schütz
  • Patent number: 6948857
Abstract: A bearing system includes a ball-and-socket joint (1) having an annular spherical body (2) and a congruently shaped, socket-type guide ring (3) for accommodating the spherical body (2), the ball-and-socket joint (1) being radially connected to an elastic annular spring element (4) made of an elastomer material and also being radially connected to a bearing (5); the spring element (4) being connected to a housing (6) on the side facing radially away from the ball-and-socket joint (1); the bearing (5) being able to execute cardanic movements relative to the housing (6); and the facing surfaces (7, 8) of the ball-and-socket joint (1) and housing (6) being always positioned relative to each other in a manner that avoids relative cardanic movements during operation of the bearing system as intended.

  • Patent number: 6572271
Abstract: An elastic bearing suspension for a shaft bearing (1) is described. The shaft bearing (1) is connected on the outside radially to at least one stop buffer (2) made of an elastomer material, the stop buffer (2) being connected to a first supporting ring (5) arranged adjacent to and at an axial distance (4) from the shaft bearing (1) by way of at least one fold (3) made of an elastomer material which extends in the axial direction and has a V-shape as seen in the longitudinal sectional of the shaft bearing (1), the first supporting ring (5) being connected to one of the end faces (6) of a stop sleeve (7), the other end face (8) of the stop sleeve (7) surrounding the stop buffer (2) on the outer circumference at a radial distance.
