Publication number: 20250068766Abstract: Systems and methods for distributed key generation is provided. In some embodiments, a public key and a private key are generated using elliptical curve cryptography (ECC) at a group of trusted parties. In some cases, an elliptical curve digital signature algorithm may be employed. Each party also generates a commitment and a blinding factor. The blinding factor may be a randomized polynomial integer. The parties use the commitments from the other parties to validate the public keys before receipt and combining the public keys into a group/aggregate public key. Content encryption keys (CEK) are then encrypted at each of the trusted parties using these aggregate public keys to generate wrapped content encryption keys (WCEK). Private keys are sharded and a sharded private key is generated at each party using the pieces of shards received by the trusted party. Subsequently, criteria may be received that allows for the release of these sharded private keys back to a trusted environment/enclave.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2024Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventors: Pavan Gupta, Michael Scott Blum, Mary Elizabeth Chalk, Robert Derward Rogers, Syam Babu Malampati, Sudish Mogli, Kurian Davy Manavalan, Taljinder Kaur

Patent number: 12236822Abstract: Dynamic refresh rate (DRR) switching is used to dynamically update a refresh rate of content presented on an interface. When a first application and a second application are presented on a user interface at a first refresh rate; a request may be received to temporarily boost the first refresh rate to a second, higher, refresh rate. DRR switching is initiated as the first refresh rate is temporarily boosted to a second refresh rate. Applications that are opted in to the second refresh rate receive signals to refresh content at the second refresh rate, while applications that are not opted in to the second refresh rate receive signals to refresh content at a virtualized refresh rate that matches the first refresh rate. Thus, the first application refreshes content at the first refresh rate and the second application refreshes content at the second, higher refresh rate, providing a smooth user experience without unnecessarily utilizing power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2023Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC.Inventors: Michael Paul Erich Von Hippel, Ana Marta Amaral De Carvalho, Hrushit Kamal Parikh, Reiner Fink, Steve Michel Pronovost, Zhigang Xu, Zachary Scott Northrup, Leonardo E. Publication number: 20250060292Abstract: Methods for preparing imaging samples by applying a liquid or semiliquid substance to a substrate surface in order to mitigate the deleterious effects of vacuum and other conditions used for sample preparation, thereby preserving the structure of at least a portion of deposited samples. These methods are useful for MS-based electron microscopy (EM) sample preparation at room temperature, but are also applicable to other imaging methods. These methods also enable transmission electron microscopy (TEM) structural confirmation of ions passing through a mass spectrometer. Additionally, only entry-level negative staining techniques for TEM are required, making this technique much more widely available than cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM).Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2022Publication date: February 20, 2025Applicant: WISCONSIN ALUMNI RESEARCH FOUNDATIONInventors: Joshua Jacques COON, Michael Scott WESTPHALL, Kenneth LEE, Austin SALOME, Timothy GRANT, Jean LODGE
