  • Patent number: 11001466
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and apparatuses for tracking usage of a packetized item. In one scenario, an apparatus may be provided for tracking use of a packetized item. The apparatus may include a roll of packets where each packet is designed to contain packetized items such as pills. The packets may have an electrically conductive material applied to various parts thereof. The apparatus may also include an enclosure configured to track usage of the packets. The enclosure may include a power source, a display, a transceiver, and a microcontroller that is configured to control operation of the display and may also analyze signals from the electrically conductive material to determine the distribution status of the packets. In one example, as packets are removed from the roll of packets, the microcontroller can determine when, where and how many packets were removed from the roll.

  • Publication number: 20170248401
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to apparatuses, methods and systems for tracking usage of an item. In one scenario, a microcontroller is configured to send a periodic signal over electrical traces that are distributed over an item to determine whether a change in electrical throughput has occurred in a trace. Upon determining that such a change has occurred, an indication is generated that describes the type of usage that occurred and the time at which the use occurred. An indication of the type of usage and the time of occurrence is then provided to specified recipients. Apparatuses for tracking such usage include a battery, a microprocessor, a transmitter and capsules for storing the controlled substances. Each capsule has an electrical trace extending through at least some of the capsule. The microprocessor is configured to determine, using the electrical traces, which capsules have been opened by identifying which traces have been broken.

  • Publication number: 20140256210
Abstract: A collapsible construction panel set with erasable surfaces. Construction panels comprising connectors facilitate a connectable panel toy that allows the user to build a variety of objects including but not limited to representations of forts, tunnels, mazes, castles, houses, doll houses, animals, and vehicles. Panels can be marked on with crayons, felt markers, porous tip markers, pens, pencils, paint brushes, air brushes, light, or paint rollers. Depending on the marking employed, the panel surfaces allow for the marking to be partially or completely erased with wet or dry methods. Panels can be easily stacked for compact storage.
