Patent number: 11687442Abstract: A computer-implemented method related to dynamic resource provisioning, includes: receiving, at a computer, a request to facilitate a testing environment, where the request specifies a number and type of resources to be included in the testing environment. A database which lists available resources in systems and/or devices that are in communication with the computer is inspected and the available resources are compared to the number and type of resources specified in the request to be included in the testing environment. In response to determining that a valid combination of the available resources meets the number and type of resources specified in the request to be included in the testing environment, the database is updated to indicate that each of the resources in the valid combination are in use. Moreover, the request is satisfied by returning information about the resources in the valid combination.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2021Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bard Allen Doster, Thai T. Pham, Brian Michael Seaman, David Michael Shackelford

Patent number: 11488748Abstract: An integrated insulator sealing and shielding assembly includes a rubber housing having a plurality of radial weathersheds and a tapered end adjacent an endmost radial weathershed. The tapered end has an outer surface with a ring extending outward from the outer surface. The ring is compressible. A metal end fitting is disposed adjacent to the endmost radial weathershed and receives the tapered end. The tapered end is received in a counterbore in the metal end fitting. The counterbore has a sealing surface so that interference of the ring with the sealing surface creates a compressive sealing force to form a seal.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2021Date of Patent: November 1, 2022Assignee: Hubbell IncorporatedInventors: John Michael Schonewolf, Benjamin Joseph Ratliff, Jeffrey Miller Butler, Anthony Michael Seaman

Patent number: 8332359Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and articles for creating a document revision history for a document imported into a first Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) from a second EDMS. Metadata and content from the second EDMS is “mirrored” within the first EDMS to create an artificial or mirrored revision history of a document within the first EDMS. Doing so allows users of the first EDMS to access any version of a document and its history, as though the document had always existed on the first EDMS. Content may be stored onto the first EDMS or a reference to the content may be stored instead. Rules may be developed to resolve conflicts between different document versions in the first and second EDMS.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2008Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert M. Kreuch, Michael Seaman, Roger G. Bacalzo, Grace Smith, Eric L. Edeen

Publication number: 20070162519Abstract: A system and method for expediting the replication of at least one specified object to a replica in a distributed computer system. A source object of a source replica determines that it has an urgent change to propagate through the distributed system, and informs a replication facility at the source replica of the urgent change. The facility extracts, or is provided with, the change information from that object, and the source replica communicates information representative of the change to a destination replica. A replication facility at the destination replica provides the change information to a destination replica object, which uses the information to make itself consistent with the source replica object.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Dave Straube, Aaron Contorer, Arnold Miller, Balan Raman, Pradyumna Misra, Michael Seaman

Publication number: 20050013261Abstract: An improvement to the learning mechanism used by communication devices in data networks that learn from the source addresses of frames in order to restrict frames transmitted to those sources to the network paths that may lead to those sources reduces the resources required for learning by identifying cases where learning would not affect the network paths used. The improvement is applicable to bridged and virtual Local Area Networks and the devices that support those networks.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2004Publication date: January 20, 2005Inventor: Michael Seaman

Patent number: 5694629Abstract: A camera film transport mechanism includes a torque limiting one-way drive clutch for preventing film damaging excessive torque loading or reverse rotation of the drive. The clutch includes coaxial inner and outer members. A resilient arm extends generally tangentially from one of the members with a free end biased against the other member and engagable with a tooth or abutment thereon to transmit torque therebetween. A sloping surface on one or both of the tooth and the arm end limits torque transmission by camming the arm out of engagement when the friction force is overcome. Multiple arms and/or abutment teeth may be provided and the arms may be arranged for either compressive or tensile loading. Slip torque deviation is limited by making the engaging surfaces from diverse materials, for example, an amorphous polymer, such as polycarbonate styrene, for one surface and a semi-crystalline polymer, such as nylon or acetal, for the other.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1995Date of Patent: December 2, 1997Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Stanley Ward Stephenson, III, Tom Michael Seamans

Patent number: 5666575Abstract: A camera includes a chamber for containing a film cartridge having a rotatable film spool with external engagement access to allow rotation of the spool. The chamber is closed by a lighttight door having a cavity including a status indicator member for determining the status of a contained film cartridge. The status indicator member is attached a cartridge engagement member which is rotatable with the cartridge film spool. The status indicator member includes a display disk for indicating the status of said cartridge based on the rotational position of said spool which is visible through an opening in the chamber door.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1996Date of Patent: September 9, 1997Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Stanley Ward Stephenson, III, Tom Michael Seamans
