  • Patent number: 10190479
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a cooling system with a heater and a coolant pump for an internal combustion engine. The cooling system is switched into a predetermined operating mode as a function of a heater request and a temperature.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 2016
Date of Patent: January 29, 2019
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC
Inventors: Mario Reichenbach, Torsten Mueller, Michael Brinker, Michael Selinger
  • Patent number: 10012131
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for determining an actuating value for a coolant pump or a control valve of a cooling system for an infernal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. In particular, a pre-control value for ascertaining the actuating value is determined in a first determination mode based on a prescribed first allocation as a function of an output variable of the infernal combustion engine and a temperature difference of a heat exchanger of the cooling system.

    Filed: October 22, 2015
Date of Patent: July 3, 2018

  • Publication number: 20160333768
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a cooling system with a coolant pump for an internal combustion engine. The coolant pump is operated for a preset period of time after a starting of the internal combustion engine. The cooling system is switched over into a first warming-up operating mode, in which the coolant pump is not operated, in the case that a first warming-up condition is fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20140067214
Abstract: A motor vehicle, in particular a passenger car, is provided with an internal combustion engine, a drive wheel arrangement that can be connected to the former, a clutch for the optional connecting and disconnecting of internal combustion engine and drive wheel arrangement, an actuator for actuating set clutch, and a controller for controlling set actuator, The set controller comprises a comparator for comparing a set quantity and an actual quantity and an actuator that is equipped in order to in particular partly close or open the clutch based on this comparison of set quantity and actual quantity, and to a method for the automatic actuating of the clutch.

  • Publication number: 20140012474
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling an electromechanical clutch system in a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle includes, but is not limited to a clutch and a clutch pedal uncoupled mechanically from the clutch. The system is configured to determine a gear input rotation speed (nG), determine a pedal travel (w) covered by the clutch pedal, compare a maximum rotation speed (nmax) of the engine with the gear input rotation speed (nG), actuate the clutch independently of the pedal travel (w), when the gear input rotation speed (nG) is greater than the maximum rotation speed (nmax) of the engine, and the pedal travel (w) is so small that an actuation of the clutch (12) dependent on the pedal travel (w) would lead to an exceeding of the maximum rotation speed (nmax).
