  • Patent number: 8547909
Abstract: Dynamic assignment of channel elements for operating as failover Overhead Channel Group channel elements. Preferred methods include configuring channel elements on a primary channel card to serve as an overhead channel group for each carrier in each sector, and, in the event of a primary channel card failure, dynamically configuring failover channel elements on an additional channel card to serve as an overhead channel group. These failover channel elements are preferably not reserved, and are merely channel elements that are not otherwise presently assigned to process traffic. Preferred methods also provide criteria for selecting which CEs to re-assign to the OCG.

  • Patent number: 8194562
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically optimizing access channel parameters in a cellular wireless communication system. A computer system monitors the level of access channel occupancy and the level of reverse link noise in a given cell sector, and the computer system then automatically adjusts access channel parameters for the sector if the access channel occupancy and reverse link noise cooperatively meet certain threshold criteria. Ideally, the adjustments in access channel parameters will help to improve the success of access channel communications. The computer system may be integrated as part of a base station or may be provided as a separate entity.

  • Patent number: 8150344
Abstract: A method and system are provided for planning a service provider network. At one or more low-cost Internet base stations (LCIBs) operating within a building, one or more wireless signals are detected. The wireless signals are provided by one or more macro base stations. The wireless signals are detected by the LCIB on an LCIB wireless-communication interface. For each detected wireless signal, one or more signal-strength values are determined. The determined signal-strength values are sent from the LCIB via an LCIB packet-communication interface to one or more network entities. The signal-strength values are used to plan the service provider network, by generating one or more network-planning directions and/or one or more network-coverage maps.

  • Patent number: 7742453
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method to condition removal of a carrier frequency from a wireless coverage area. The method involves evaluating handoff statistics for the coverage area, and applying results of past carrier frequency removal (preferably from a morphologically similar cluster) to predict a net change in hard handoffs that will result if the carrier frequency is removed. The method then involves using the predicted net change in hard handoffs as a basis to determine whether to remove the carrier frequency. The predicted net change in hard handoffs may be converted to a corresponding predicted net change in call drops, and the carrier frequency may then be removed only if the predicted net change in call drops does not exceed a threshold.

  • Patent number: 7697489
Abstract: A network access server, such as a PDSN, might provide Mobile IP services to one or more access points for a wireless wide area network. A wireless device might handoff to an access point served by the network access server, and the wireless device might receive from the access point an identifier, such as a Packet Zone ID, that identifies the network access server. The wireless device might then register with the access server but delay making any subsequent Mobile IP re-registrations until after a predetermined amount of time.

  • Patent number: 7466682
Abstract: Determining RF capacity of a wireless network and measuring BTS performance. Preferred methods include collecting forward link data at a BTS transmit port, where the data includes the power level associated with each Walsh code of each sector for each carrier over a predetermined time interval, and then processing the data by identifying each channel as using either second generation CDMA technology (a ā€œ2Gā€ call) or third-generation technology (a ā€œ3Gā€ call). Voice and data may also be identified. The power level may be determined by measuring a signal level (e.g., dB), and subsequently accounting for any RF losses through a calibration step, and finally converting the power-per-Walsh code to an absolute power level (e.g., dBm, or watts). The average user power per link (ppl) is then determined and the number of users per technology (2G versus 3G) is also determined.

  • Publication number: 20060120956
Abstract: The present invention relates to diagnostic imaging agents for in vivo imaging. The imaging agents comprise a synthetic barbituric acid derivative labelled at the 5-position with an imaging moiety suitable for diagnostic imaging in vivo. The invention also provides pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical compositions comprising the imaging agents, together with kits of the preparation of the radiopharmaceuticals. Also described are chelator conjugates of the barbituric acid derivative, which are suitable for the preparation of imaging agents comprising a radioactive or paramagnetic metal ion. The imaging agents are useful for the diagnostic imaging in vivo of various disease states, including atherosclerosis.
