Abstract: A periodic signal generator includes a resonant LC tank circuit that generates a periodic reference signal at a first frequency at a differential output thereof. A temperature-responsive frequency compensation module is electrically coupled to the differential output of the resonant LC tank circuit. This module includes a temperature dependent voltage control module that generates a temperature dependent control voltage and an array of switchable capacitive modules that is electrically coupled to a first node of the differential output of the resonant LC tank circuit and responsive to the temperature dependent control voltage and a plurality of switching coefficients. The array of switchable capacitive modules includes a fixed capacitor having a first terminal electrically coupled to the first node and a voltage-controlled variable capacitor having a first terminal electrically coupled to the first node.

Abstract: A system and method are described that enable policy-implementing modules in a mobile wireless network to identify the location of a user and render policy-based (e.g., quality of service, accounting, throttling, etc.) decisions based upon a variety of additional information such as: home network availability in a market, user class, time of day, network congestion, application type, etc. The system renders policy decisions, based upon geo-spatial location information, by receiving a mobile wireless data message including a geospatial identifier. Thereafter, a policy engine renders a data service policy decision by applying a policy to the geospatial identifier. The potential classifications identified by the data service policy decision include an in-market roaming mode wherein a data usage is treated as non-roaming, even though associated with a roaming data session, based upon an in-market location specified by the geospatial location information.

Abstract: An apparatus is described for managing mobile network services. The apparatus includes a service authorization and utilization control function (SAUCF) element configured to authorize a mobile network service request by acting as a service manager configured to centrally coordinate service authorizations for multiple network services associated with an individual subscriber account by evaluating a service policy defining user access spanning the multiple network services. The service policy includes (a) communication authorization controls affecting permission for a user associated with the subscriber account to access a mobile network service in accordance with one or more criteria applicable to a bundled service category; and (b) charging controls for determining whether a subscriber account includes sufficient credits to use the mobile network service. A real time utilization interface is configured to transmit messages between the SAUCF element and a subscriber service utilization account.

Abstract: A computer-automated method is described for identifying and remediating anomalous data points for acquired performance parameter (e.g., KPI) values for components of a mobile wireless data network—such as PDSNs. The remediated data point sets is thereafter used as input to a forecasting model rendering a forecast for a mobile wireless network performance indicator/parameter. Data point sequence seasonality is exploited to improve the detection of anomalous data points. Furthermore, correcting data point sets is reiterated until changes between two iterations of the correction process are within a threshold magnitude for terminating the iterative data point sequence correction process.

Abstract: The described embodiments of the present invention include a method for controlling authorization of a multimedia service requested by a user device. In one embodiment, the method includes examining an identity of an access network associated with the user device and an identity of the service requested to determine whether the service is supported; authorizing resources in the access network required by the service if the service is supported; rejecting the service if the service is not supported and if a policy associated with the access network requires unsupported services to be rejected; and authorizing a default level of resources in the access network if the service is not supported and if the policy associated with the access network does not require unsupported services to be rejected.

Abstract: Managing data resource utilization in a wireless network environment comprising a first data network and a second data network is described herein. The described management infrastructure and method incorporates monitoring data usage of a wireless network subscriber over the first data network, determining that the data usage over the first data network meets a specified threshold, and, in response to the determination that usage has reached the specified threshold, administratively disconnecting the wireless network subscriber from the first data network so as to cause a data session of the wireless network subscriber to be reassigned to the second data network.

Abstract: A way for managing use of a mobile wireless device in a tethering configuration is described. The disclosed mobile wireless system is configured to receive a message packet issued from a device tethered to the mobile wireless device. The system determines whether the mobile wireless device is permitted to pass messages on behalf of tethered devices by referencing a profile with which the mobile device is associated. The mobile wireless system discards the received message packet in response to determining from the profile that the mobile wireless device is not permitted to pass messages on behalf of tethered devices. Moreover, a number of ways for monetizing the supported tethering mode are described such that a service provider is adequately compensated for the increased demand on the mobile wireless network resources arising from support for the tethering mode of operation for a mobile wireless device.

Abstract: A method for managing service quality provided by a mobile wireless network including a population of base station transceivers and associated antennas at a radio frequency interface to mobile wireless devices is described. The method includes acquiring data volume and connection attempts demand information from the base station transceivers. The data volume and connection attempts demand parameter values are analyzed to render statistical values for these two types of demand parameter values. Thereafter, trigger points for data volume and data connection attempts demand are established based upon the statistical values for these two respective types of demand information. The data volume and connection attempts demand trigger points are applied, respectively, to the individual data volume demand parameter values and the individual connection attempts demand parameter values to render a list of transceivers having parameter values exceeding both the data volume and connection attempts demand trigger points.

The administration application also has a player management page, a pool page and a ticket management set of pages. The administration application interoperates with a banking application and a casino application. The administration application will send the event information to the casino application, receive wager information from the casino application, coordinate wager amounts with the banking application, close the wagering, monitor the event, update pool, close the pool, and allocate the winnings and losses.

Abstract: An example method includes receiving a packet for a flow associated with a subscriber; determining if a home agent element has a context for the flow by communicating a handover query to a network element; assigning an Internet protocol (IP) address for the subscriber in response to the home agent element not having the context for the flow; and creating a session for the subscriber, where the session is created using inter-process communication between the home agent element and the network element. The method can further include maintaining communications with a packet data serving node (PDSN) and an Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) element in order to assist in roaming between a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network and a code division multiple access (CDMA) network. The session information received from the failed router is transferred to the second router, and the second router is configured to have an active state.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide a reference signal generator having a controlled quality (“Q”) factor. An exemplary apparatus to generate a harmonic reference signal includes a reference resonator, such as an LC-tank, which generates a first reference signal having a resonant frequency, and a plurality of reactance modules couplable to the reference resonator. Each reactance module comprises one or more reactance unit cells, and each reactance unit cell comprises a reactance element coupled in series to a switching element. In exemplary embodiments, the reactance element is a capacitor having a predetermined unit of capacitance, and the switching element is a transistor having a predetermined resistance when in an off state. The ratio of capacitance to resistance is substantially constant for all reactance modules of the plurality of reactance modules.

The system comprises a wellbore servicing equipment unit comprising an internal combustion engine, a fuel tank coupled to the internal combustion engine, a fuel distribution channel, a fuel level sensor component, a fuel level indicator, and a fuel level indicator control box. The wellbore servicing equipment is mounted on a trailer upon which the wellbore servicing equipment is transported to the wellbore. The fuel level sensor component senses a fuel level inside the fuel tank. The fuel level indicator indicates a fuel level status of the fuel tank to remote fueling personnel at a standoff distance. The fuel level indicator control box is coupled to the fuel level sensor component and to the fuel level indicator and commands the indication presented by the fuel level indicator based on the fuel level inside the fuel tank sensed by the fuel level sensor component.
