Publication number: 20230338802Abstract: The Sports equipment with magnets for ball control is the combination of a spherical ball with multiple embedded magnets and a stick that includes a magnet within the head. A player controls movement of the ball using the stick via the interaction of the magnetic fields formed by the magnets in the ball and the magnet in the head. The magnets in the ball are preferably oriented with all matching outward poles. For example, all outward-facing North poles or all outward-facing South poles. Matching the outward facing poles allows the player to be presented with a more consistent magnetic field by the ball as compared to a ball formed from a single magnet, or other lesser number of magnets. The head of the stick has a two-sided magnet, allowing the player to choose between attracting the ball and repulsing the ball with the head of the stick.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2022Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventor: Michael Sharpe

Patent number: 9503412Abstract: A system implementing a social paradigm for information technology (IT) services and social knowledge management in an IT environment. Physical and non-physical objects in the IT environment are represented by IT objects which are a type of social objects with social features. Each IT object has an activity stream for capturing communications, notifications, and knowledge related to the IT object. An activity stream manager may detect a change to an IT object, automatically generate a post, topic, or comment about the change, and place it in the activity stream of the IT object. For any IT object affected by the change, the activity stream manager may update an associated activity stream to reflect the change and may notify various users of the update in real time. A user interface is provided for the users to, among others, collaborate in the context of the change.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Assignee: ITINVOLVE, INC.Inventors: Rob Reiner, Michael Sharpe

Patent number: 9495062Abstract: A perspective management system configured for providing a perspective editor through which users in the IT environment can build perspectives. A perspective specifies a set of IT objects representing a portion of the IT environment that a user or a group of users care about. The perspective management system implements a social networking paradigm. As such, each IT object has an activity stream configured for capturing communications, notifications, and knowledge related to the IT object. Perspectives are themselves IT objects. Therefore, each perspective also has an activity stream. In response to a request from a client device such as for an impact analysis on a change, an incident, or a problem, the system constructs a graphical view for display on the client device showing a potential impact on objects in one or more of the perspectives involved.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: ITINVOLVE, INC.Inventors: Rob Reiner, Michael Sharpe

Publication number: 20100200690Abstract: A target tracking device incorporating a Position Sensitive Detector (PSD) 1 is described. A target is illuminated by a laser of a suitable wavelength. The target reflects the laser radiation and the reflected radiation is incident on a flying vehicle carrying a target tracking device. The PSD in the device outputs a signal representative of the position of the incident laser spot. The output signal is input into control electronics, the control electronics incorporating a resistive transimpedance amplifier. A higher than usual bias voltage is applied to the PSD yielding improved pulse response of the target tracking device. Therefore, the tracking device is particularly suited for use with a target marking laser having a short pulse duration.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2010Publication date: August 12, 2010Inventor: Michael Sharpe

Patent number: 7396891Abstract: Aqueous coating compositions containing (1) a first polymer containing reactive functional groups with a selected level of carboxylic acid functionality and (2) a polyfunctional crosslinker agent containing functional groups that are reactive with appropriate functional groups of the first polymer, are disclosed. The two-component polymer compositions provide a combination of durability and ready removability of the final coating after curing. Two-component polymer compositions based on the first polymer containing hydroxyl functionality in addition to carboxylic acid functionality and use of a polyisocyanate as the polyfunctional crosslinker agent are especially useful as floor polish compositions.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: July 8, 2008Assignee: Rohm and Haas CompanyInventors: Richard Thomas Gray, Alan Wayne Kohr, Dennis Michael Sharpe, Theodore Tysak
