Patent number: 10760165Abstract: A cathodic protection system that is able to monitor the operational status of a plurality of test points and rectifiers. The cathodic protection system includes a plurality of test point monitors that are associated with test points and a plurality of rectifier controllers that are associated with the rectifiers located along a utility pipeline. The test point monitors are battery powered while the rectifier controllers may be utility line powered. Each of the test point monitors and rectifier controllers communicates with a base station utilizing a wireless communication technique. The base station communicates with a back end server that operates to accumulate data and visually present the data to an operator on a display associated with cathodic protection software application. The software application allows the operator to monitor the health of the system and address alerts generated by any of the test points or monitored rectifiers.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2015Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Assignee: Sensus Spectrum LLCInventors: Christopher Michael Atkins, Jacob Peter Schirm, Kevin Michael Shay

Patent number: 9560451Abstract: A conversation assistance system with a bi-lateral array of microphones arranged externally of a space that does not include any array microphones, where the space has a left side, a right side, a front and a back, the array comprising a left side sub-array of multiple microphones and a right side sub-array of multiple microphones, where each microphone has a microphone output signal, and a processor that creates from the microphone output signals a left-ear audio signal and a right-ear audio signal. The left-ear audio signal is created based on the microphone output signals from one or more of the microphones of the left-side sub-array and one or more of the microphones of the right-side sub-array and the right-ear audio signal is created based on the microphone output signals from one or more of the microphones of the left-side sub-array and one or more of the microphones of the right-side sub-array.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2015Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Bose CorporationInventors: Jahn Dmitri Eichfeld, William M. Rabinowitz, William Berardi, John Trotter, Michael Shay

Patent number: 8834337Abstract: One embodiment described herein is a sheet of material 200 formed into accurate and high value structures by implementing a plurality of elongated slots 202 that are obliquely placed along a fold line 204 which create one or more strips 206 consisting of a length w, a width s and an angle f to said fold line 204. The strips 206 are put into a state of plastic deformation through torsion which is controlled via the combination of said length w, width s, and angle f elements to create accurate, unique, complex and high value products or forms. The embodiments described allow for a greater degree of freedom of sheet material types, a greater degree of sheet material thicknesses, while simplifying implementation. This and other embodiments are also enclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2011Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Inventors: Robert Joseph Hannum, Andrew Scott Davies, Mark Theodore Walsh, Michael Shay Binion, Mario Greco
