  • Patent number: 7913511
Abstract: A cargo container includes an outer aluminum shell or housing having side, rear, bottom and top walls and a front opening with a pair of hinged doors. The housing receives a molded box-shaped composite outer shell which receives a molded box-shaped composite inner shell defining a cargo chamber. Corresponding walls of the inner and outer shells and the doors confine insulation cassettes each including vacuum insulation panels forming layers, all protected by plastic sheets and plastic film. Air is circulated by blowers within the chamber through a refrigeration evaporator and electrical heating elements, and a rear portion of the housing encloses operating components including a refrigeration compressor, storage batteries and exhaust fans. A control system senses temperature within the chamber and smoke and humidity outside the container and controls the operation of the compressor, exhaust fans and other components from storage batteries or an external power source.

The housing receives a molded box-shaped composite outer shell which receives a molded box-shaped composite inner shell defining a cargo chamber. Corresponding walls of the inner and outer shells and the doors confine insulation cassettes each including vacuum insulation panels forming layers separated by a foam sheet and covered by corrugated plastic sheets, all wrapped with plastic film. Air is circulated within the chamber through a refrigeration evaporator and electrical heating elements, and a rear portion of the housing encloses a refrigeration compressor, storage batteries and a control system which senses the temperature within the chamber to operate the compressor and heating element from the batteries or an external power source to maintain substantially constant preselected temperatures within the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6372086
Abstract: Processes are disclosed for extracting sugar rich liquor from sugar cane. The sugar cane is first treated by pulping it in two tub type pulpers having a rotating impeller. The contents of the first pulper are extracted through the bedplate of the extractor and are forwarded onto the second pulper. The contents of the second pulper are extracted through the bedplate of the extractor and are forwarded to form a mat on a moving belt countercurrent extractor of the type having a foraminous belt. Negative pressure is applied below the belt to assist the extraction of a sugar rich liquid component through the belt. The material passes through several separation zones as it travels on the belt with liquid applied to the mat from a region above the belt. The extracted liquid component is collected for further processing.

  • Patent number: 5367894
Abstract: A flat bed, Fourdrinier-type, countercurrent washer for cellulosic pulp incorporates a pressing section at the downstream end thereof which includes the couch roll and additional rolls that carry out multiple mechanical pressing operations on the pulp after it has been subjected to multiple stages of displacement washing without mechanical treatment. As a result, where such washers without mechanical pressing deliver pulp of a consistency of the order of 15% solids, this washer increases the pulp consistency to as high as 40% while correspondingly increasing the effectiveness of the washing operation as a whole.

  • Patent number: 5221437
Abstract: Screening apparatus for separately removing knots and heavy reject particles from paper making stock comprises a generally cylindrical vertical housing having the interior thereof separated by a cylindrical perforated screening member into an annular screening chamber and an accepts space on the outer and inner sides of the screening cylinder respectively. Separate outlets for light and heavy reject particles are located at the top and bottom of the screening chamber, the supply flow of feed stock enters the screening chamber at the bottom thereof, and special provision is made to insure that maximum separation of the knots and other lighter reject particles from the heavy reject materials will be effected within the screening chamber with minimum contact with the screening cylinder itself.
