  • Patent number: 9065933
Abstract: An apparatus used to interface to a communications network is provided. Specifically, the apparatus is for placement in a network interface device (NID). An interface module that may be used as a splitter and balun for telephone and data services is also provided. The interface module may include a housing containing a pivotal rearward extending portion, in which a bottom of the pivotal rearward extending portion is above a bottom of an adjacent portion of the housing providing an open region below the bottom of the pivotal rearward extending portion, at least one wire extending from a front portion of the housing and connecting a balanced pair of telephone wires from the telephone company to the customer premises, and a coaxial connector disposed on a side of the pivotal rearward extending portion.

  • Publication number: 20120170319
Abstract: An apparatus, including an AC voltage transforming device increases an AC voltage input signal to a higher AC voltage signal, an AC to DC voltage conversion device which converts the higher AC voltage signal to a DC voltage, wherein the DC voltage has a higher voltage level than the peak or peak-to-peak voltage level of the higher AC voltage signal, a DC to DC conversion device which converts the DC voltage input to a higher DC voltage output, and a DC voltage to load connecting device which connects the higher DC voltage to an electrical load when the output of the DC to DC voltage conversion device attains a desired amplitude or an amplitude needed to drive the electrical load.

  • Patent number: 6917683
Abstract: In signal-splitting equipment for multiple subscribers, circuitry is disposed on a signal-splitter card which connects with a back plane providing physical support and electrical connection to other splitter cards and to distant sites, as well as to an interface with a system conducting automatic testing of DSL circuits. Each splitter card also carries a separate relay card with signal-routing relay circuitry, the relay card being affixed by means of a switching connector having bypass circuitry which ensures normal communication of DSL signals and audio signals in the event that a relay card is disconnected from its signal-splitter card. During a testing of the equipment, the system operates the relays of the relay cards of the respective signal-splitter cards for a connection of test equipment to various equipment associated with a specific subscriber.

  • Patent number: 6535581
Abstract: In a telephone communication system employing a lower spectral band and a higher spectral band for communication of voice and video, wherein the system includes a first line for carrying signals at both the first and the second spectral bands and a second line for carrying signals at only the second spectral band, and wherein capacitors are employed for connection of the second line to the first line for exclusion of DC at a signal splitter of the communication system, the system has a bypass DC signal path for an alternative connection of the second line to the first line in substitution for the connection of the capacitors. The bypass can be activated electronically and remotely to establish conditions for the conduction of test of the signal carrying lines.
