  • Publication number: 20140336995
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for simulating blood flow through a heart valve may first involve receiving patient-specific data, including imaging data related to the heart valve, an inflow tract of the heart valve and an outflow tract of the heart valve, and at least one clinically measured flow parameter. Next, the method may involve generating a digital model of the heart valve and the inflow and outflow tracts, based at least partially on the imaging data, discretizing the model, applying boundary conditions to a portion of the digital model that contains the heart valve and the inflow and outflow tracts, and initializing and solving mathematical equations of blood flow through the model to generate computerized flow parameters. Finally, the method may involve comparing the computerized flow parameters with the at least one clinically measured flow parameter.

  • Publication number: 20140104058
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ignoring a duplicated alarm in a communications network are described. In one embodiment, at least one alarm message associated with at least one event is received. A determination of whether the at least one event exists in a database is subsequently made. The at least one event is recorded in the database if the at least one event does not exist in the database. Conversely, the at least one alarm message is suppressed if the at least one event exists in the database.

  • Patent number: 8674308
Abstract: A dewar assembly is presented for use in an optical IR detection system defining a light collecting region. The dewar assembly comprises a warm shield unit configured as an enclosure for optically enclosing the light collection region and having an optical window through which incident light enters the dewar. The warm shield defines a reflective inner surface configured such that light portions of the incident light propagating through said optical window onto said inner surface are reflected by the inner surface towards regions outside said light collecting region.

  • Publication number: 20140073976
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining individual-specific blood flow characteristics. One method includes acquiring, for each of a plurality of individuals, individual-specific anatomic data and blood flow characteristics of at least part of the individual's vascular system; executing a machine learning algorithm on the individual-specific anatomic data and blood flow characteristics for each of the plurality of individuals; relating, based on the executed machine learning algorithm, each individual's individual-specific anatomic data to functional estimates of blood flow characteristics; acquiring, for an individual and individual-specific anatomic data of at least part of the individual's vascular system; and for at least one point in the individual's individual-specific anatomic data, determining a blood flow characteristic of the individual, using relations from the step of relating individual-specific anatomic data to functional estimates of blood flow characteristics.
