Abstract: Described herein are methods of identifying one or more epigenetic modifications in a nucleic acid sequence of a sample of a subject's father to identify a risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), to diagnose ASD early in a subject based at least in part of the epigenetic modification identified in the nucleic acid sequence of the sample of the subject's father. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating a subject with autism or ASD.
