  • Patent number: 7019532
Abstract: A device for identifying a wire break between an electrical connection of a digital output and a load includes an evaluation module connected to the electrical connection and a voltage limiter module also connected to the electrical connection for co-determining a voltage value which is present at the evaluation module in the event of the wire break.

  • Publication number: 20050151542
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for error diagnosis at digital outputs (D1) of a control module (IC1), in particular to identify a wire break between an electrical connection (K11) at one of the digital outputs (D1) of the control module (IC1) and a load (L) that can be connected to the electrical connection (K11), with a voltage limiter module (V1) and an evaluation module (A) connected to the electrical connection (K11) such that in the event of a wire break between the electrical connection (K11) and the load (L), a voltage value (U1a) also defined by the voltage limiter module (V1) is present at the evaluation module (A), when the digital output (D1) is in a first “digital zero” state.
