  • Publication number: 20150288125
Abstract: A shuttle valve assembly for an hydraulically actuated tool has a primary chamber with a primary inlet port located at an upstream end thereof for communicating with an hydraulic fluid supply. The primary inlet port defines an inlet valve seat with an inlet stop located downstream. An inlet valve member is displaceable along an inlet valve path between a closed position sealingly engaging the inlet valve seat to at least substantially prevent flow of hydraulic fluid through the primary inlet port and an open position engaging the inlet stop and allowing flow. A primary outlet port is located at a downstream end of the primary chamber for communicating the primary chamber with an actuable member of the tool. The primary outlet port defines an outlet valve seat with an outlet stop located downstream.

  • Publication number: 20150263472
Abstract: An hydraulically actuated tool has a body, an hydraulic fluid supply, a head chamber and an actuable member adapted to be actuated by pressure within the head chamber. An hydraulic drive arrangement is configured to draw hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic fluid supply and drive the hydraulic fluid under increasing pressure into the head chamber. An indicator assembly is mounted in the body and has an indicator member displaceable between a retracted position and an extended position protruding from the body. A pressure relief valve assembly is adapted to open upon pressure within the head chamber reaching a predetermined threshold pressure. Opening of the pressure relief valve assembly communicates the head chamber with the indicator assembly to drive the indicator member to the extended position and communicates the head chamber with the hydraulic fluid supply.

  • Publication number: 20050005672
Abstract: An hydraulic crimper (1) comprising, an elongated crimping assembly (3) with a forward end and a rearward end the crimper assembly having a crimping head (11) moveable towards and away from a die (9), a handle (5) for holding the crimping assembly, the handle extending above the crimping assembly and being constructed so that it has a balanced position where it may be held with the hydraulic crimper in balance, an actuator (7) moveable between an on setting and an off setting, the actuator being located on the handle, a control valve (37) for controlling flow of hydraulic fluid under pressure to move the crimping head, and a mechanical linkage (13) extending from the actuator to the control valve whereby to control the movement of the crimping head in response to the setting of the actuator.
