  • Patent number: 7558352
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for preprocessing of pilot symbols for channel estimation. • Patent number: 7551695
Abstract: A mobile station sends to the base stations a bit vector which contains weighting factors (w1, w2) for the amplitudes and/or the phases of the signals to be emitted from the antennas. The bit vector is updated by changing one bit position for each time slot, and by transmitting this from the mobile station to the base station in the form of a bit (e.g., an FBI (feedback information) bit). A trellis diagram can be set up comprising the possible states of the bit vector and the possible state changes (branches) and the Viterbi algorithm can be used for the determination of the weighting factors actually used by the base station, taking account of both the currently transmitted training symbols and the previously transmitted training symbols.

  • Patent number: 7526262
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a converter circuit with a limiter to convert an analog reception signal into a value-discrete limiter signal. An evaluation circuit determines a zero crossing distance signal from the temporal distances between successive zero crossings of the limiter signal. A synthesis circuit calculates a digital processing signal whose zero crossings correspond to those of the limiter signal and whose pulse shape has a smaller spectral width than a rectangular pulse.

  • Patent number: 7369602
Abstract: In the method, the received spread-coded signal sequence rk(i) is first of all correlated with the spread-coded training symbol sequence in a correlator (24) so as to counteract the influence of the transmitted training symbols. The signal sequence which results from the correlation process is then despread in a despreading apparatus (21, 22). The despread signal sequence is integrated over a number (N_MF) of signal values, with the number (N_MF) being set as a function of the channel dynamic range (?). The sequence of data symbols produced in this way is filtered with fixed or variable filter coefficients in a digital filter (25) in order to produce channel estimation values ({tilde over (H)}(l)).

  • Publication number: 20060233285
Abstract: The method is based on a signal interval (DB) which comprises a first part (ET) (which is modulated using a first modulation method (GFSK)) of the signal interval and a second part (which is modulated using a second modulation method (DMPSK)) of the signal interval. The channel parameters (c(i)) relating to the second part (which is modulated using the second modulation method) of the signal interval are determined using a received data signal (a(i); p(i)) from the first part (ET) of the signal interval (DB).

  • Patent number: 6993097
Abstract: In a method for estimating a sequence of input data symbols of a CPFSK-modulated data signal transmitted via a faulty channel, in the course of an ACS operation for calculating a transition metric value, an estimated value is determined for the replacement symbol occurring during the linear approximation of the CPFSK. That estimated value is considered in calculating the transition metric value.

  • Publication number: 20050025225
Abstract: In a method for variable weighting of channel coefficients for a RAKE receiver, at least one variable that is characteristic of a transmitter and/or transmission channel and/or receiver characteristic is assessed. A correction factor is determined, which is dependent on the assessment result. The channel coefficients are multiplied by the correction factor, and the corrected channel coefficients are used as the basis for equalization in the RAKE receiver.

  • Publication number: 20050025110
Abstract: A method for calculation of path weights for the equalization of a data signal that is transmitted via a data channel whose power is regulated in a RAKE receiver is disclosed. In the method, at least one uncorrected path weight is calculated for the data signal that is transmitted via the data channel, using channel estimation results that have been obtained on the basis of a common pilot channel. The uncorrected path weight is corrected by multiplying it by a correction factor that contains a ratio of a data-channel-specific gain estimation to a pilot-channel-based gain estimation.

  • Patent number: 6785348
Abstract: In a method for demodulating a CPFSK-modulated signal, the n−1-th substitute symbol an−1 which occurs in the linear approximation of the CPFSK is estimated in order to determine an n-th input data symbol dn on which the CPFSK modulation is based. The n−1-th substitute symbol an−1 is in this case estimated on the basis of the previously determined n−1-th input data symbol {circumflex over (d)}n−1.
