    Abstract: In an induction heating device having an induction coil for an induction hob, the induction coil may be of flat or planar design and have at least one peripheral coil turn comprising coil wire. The outer contour of the induction coil or the outermost coil turn may be approximately trapezoidal having two sides of equal length which are situated opposite one another and may be straight, and having two short sides of differing length between the sides of equal length.
