  • Patent number: 8127928
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a collapsible shipping container utilizing standard box making equipment manufactured from material such as paper, corrugated board, and corrugated plastic, and in particular, to a package that employs a tensioned film system, that holds a product hammock style, between two layers of film and/or between a film and a wall of the package. To use the box, the formed box which has been stored in a flat configuration, is unfolded to a substantially rectangular or square configuration by folding at least one flap panel about its fold line to a position superadjacent a central panel and conforming the container to a hexagonal cross-section. In this configuration the box retains its hexagonal cross-section and can be self supporting in a vertical position, in order to facilitate the filing operation.

  • Publication number: 20030112639
Abstract: A compact, long-life illuminator for an optical fiber or bundle of fibers uses an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to selectively illuminate and color such fibers from within an enclosure which may be a compact, multipurpose, sealed housing. The illuminator is composed of solid-state components with no moving parts. It performs in several lighting and signage applications and has a surprisingly long life. The brightness and color of the light output from the LEDs, and changes in same over time in pre-set or variable cycles, can be set, changed, and carried out through an internal or external control board. That control board can be used in combination with an external digital multiplex (DMX) device, either hard wired or wirelessly controlled, and may be programmed by a computer system operating through a data bus management system.

  • Publication number: 20030014762
Abstract: A cable television system having bidirectional capability has subscribers with “set-top” converters which have no web browser capability. A server at the head-end or hub of the cable television system is equipped with one or more web browsers. The video representing each web page is applied to a cable modem termination system and combined with identification of the address or identifier of the subscriber for whom the web page is destined. The cable modem converts the data into a form suitable for transmission over the downstream function of the cable to the subscribers. At each subscriber, the web information is applied to a cable modem, which extracts the web page information and its destination information, and couples the information onto a bus. That subscriber whose memorized unique address corresponds to the destination uses the web page video information to update a memory buffer, which in general contains or stores a complete web page.

  • Patent number: 5622161
Abstract: A stove (1) for the combustion of solid fuel (4), such as wood, a fire box within the stove forming the combustion chamber (2) for the fuel is provided with a hollow hood (20) extending over the combustion chamber. A primary air inlet (7) and channel provide a supply of air to the combustion chamber for primary combustion and a secondary air inlet (9) and channel provide a supply of air to the hollow hood (20). The hollow hood has a multiplicity of air exit apertures (32) distributed across the lower surface (25) of the hood to provide air for secondary combustion in the upper region of the fire box. A flue gas exit orifice (36) is provided in the hood, the orifice being defined by a hole in both the lower surface (25) and upper surface of the hood, the holes being connected by a wall or walls (37) with a plurality of apertures (39) therein. Air is thereby supplied to the flue gases (10) exiting through the orifice (36) enabling secondary combustion to occur in the orifice.
