    Abstract: A fastener joint tightening apparatus with an inertia canceling unit is disclosed for tightening a threaded fastener joint using a power tool driven by an electric motor, including a tool adapter for engaging a rotating member of the tool, a bit adapter for engaging a bit for tightening a threaded fastener, and a torsional spring mounted between the tool and bit adapters to dampen torsional torque during fastener tightening.
