  • Publication number: 20200263832
Abstract: A constant-pressure storage unit and a method for operating a constant-pressure storage unit, for storing and dispensing hydrogen under constant pressure are disclosed. The constant-pressure storage unit has at least one constant-pressure store, which is divided into two regions by a movable separating piston, at least one liquid pump for conveying a liquid, and at least one liquid store, wherein a measuring device measures the liquid level in the liquid store and sends a signal to the liquid pump by means of a control unit. In this way, the liquid pump can be stopped in time when the constant-pressure storage unit is empty.

  • Patent number: 9982842
Abstract: A method for performing a pressure test on a tank (e.g. hydrogen tank) and a filling apparatus is disclosed. The tank is connected via a tank valve to a tank feed line which has a first valve for shutting off the tank feed line, wherein during the pressure test prior to the tank being filled through the tank feed line a flow of medium, with the first valve closed, is directed into the tank via a bypass line bridging the first valve, wherein the flow of medium is throttled in the bypass line such that a tank feed pressure acting on the tank valve rises in a controlled manner, wherein the tank valve opens particularly when the tank feed pressure exceeds the pressure prevailing in the tank.

  • Patent number: 9759382
Abstract: A method for filling up a storage tank (e.g., a vehicle tank) with a gaseous, pressurized medium, in particular in the form of hydrogen, in which a supply tank system for storing the hydrogen is connected with the storage tank to be filled by way of a tank feed line and a fueling valve, wherein, prior to filling up the storage tank with aforesaid medium with the fueling valve closed, a flow of the medium for cooling the tank feed line is guided through the tank feed line at a predefinable target temperature, and removed from the tank feed line through a line that branches away upstream from the fueling valve. The disclosure further provides for a fueling facility for filling up a storage tank.

  • Publication number: 20160238194
Abstract: A storage device for storing a gas, in particular for storing gaseous hydrogen, having a first chamber for receiving the gas and a locking device for closing and opening a flow path connected to the first chamber. The storage device further has an adjustment unit for volume change of the first chamber. Further there is disclosed a gas storage unit which is the storage device wherein the gas is stored in the first chamber and to a method for the at least partial filling or emptying of the gas storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20160033080
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for filling up a storage tank (e.g., a vehicle tank) (20) with a gaseous, pressurized medium, in particular in the form of hydrogen, in which a supply tank system (2) for storing the hydrogen is connected with the storage tank (20) to be filled by way of a tank feed line (3) and a fueling valve (4), wherein, prior to filling up the storage tank (20) with aforesaid medium with the fueling valve (4) closed, a flow of the medium for cooling the tank feed line (3) is guided through the tank feed line (3) at a predefinable target temperature, and removed from the tank feed line (3) through a line (5) that branches away upstream from the fueling valve (4). In addition, the invention relates to a fueling facility (1) for filling up a storage tank (20).

  • Publication number: 20150267865
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for filling a storage tank, in particular, a vehicle tank, with a pressurized, gaseous medium, in particular hydrogen, in which each storage tank (8) is filled with said medium via a tank supply line (30) and a filling coupling (19) which is provided on one end section (30a) of the tank supply line (30). Prior to filling the storage tank (8), a cold accumulator (7) provided upstream of the filling coupling (19) on the end section (30a) of the tank supply line (30) is cooled to a predetermined operational temperature such that the medium which, in a first phase of the filling of the storage tank (8), flows through the tank supply line (30) where it is in particular warmed, is cooled by the cold accumulator (7) to a predetermined desired temperature. When the tank supply line (30) has been cooled due to the effect of the medium flowing back, said cold accumulator (7) is cooled again in a second phase of filling the storage tank (8) by a medium flowing back.
