Patent number: 11582647Abstract: A method (100) for managing resource usage across domains in a communication network is disclosed. The communication network comprises a radio access domain, a core domain and a transport domain providing connectivity between the radio access domain and the core domain. The method comprises receiving from the core domain an indication of load status of gateway nodes in the core domain (110), receiving from the transport domain an indication of load status of transport resources in the transport domain (120), normalising across the core and transport domain a cost of using resources in each domain (130), calculating, on the basis of the normalised costs, optimal chains of resources in the core and transport domains for providing a service from different radio access nodes to different possible Access Point Names (APNs) (140), and sending to the core and transport domains information about the calculated optimal resource chains (150).Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2017Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Giovanni Fiaschi, Bo Åström, Michael Åström, Stefan Dahlfort

Patent number: 11361373Abstract: A user device such as a tablet may present search results. Filters may be applied to filter the search results. The filtered search results may include indicia that identify that the filtered search results have been filtered and that individual items within the filtered search results correspond to the applied filter. The indicia may fade out over time as the applied filter expires. The filtered search results may also include the individual items that do not correspond to the applied filter. These individual items may have different indicia applied to them, so as to differentiate them from individual items that do correspond to the applied filter. By providing the indicia, a user is provided with a visual confirmation that the search results have been filtered, what filter has been applied, and a differentiation between the individual items that do and do not correspond with the applied filter.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2017Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Brian Warren, Nathan Ross Mueller, Aaron Michael Strom

Patent number: 10530871Abstract: A method by a control node (100) is disclosed for controlling deployment of services on computer resources within a distributed computing system (110) for use by electronic devices (120). The method includes recording information (200) that identifies characteristics of the electronic devices (120) and/or users of the electronic devices (120) that are provided which of the services. Dependent relationships between the services and the characteristics of the electronic devices (120) and/or the characteristics of the users of the electronic devices (120) are determined (202) based on the information. Deployment of the services on the computer resources within the distributed computing system (110) is controlled (204) based on the identified relationships and for use by the electronic devices (120). Related control nodes, systems, and computer program products are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2013Date of Patent: January 7, 2020Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Elena Fersman, Michael Åström, Cristian Norlin

Publication number: 20160307415Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method monitor a device within a zone. A head may wirelessly communicate with an emitter and a hub. The device may be secured to the head. The emitter may transmit a signal to define the zone, and the head may receive the signal to detect the presence of the device and the head within the zone. A first alarm may be triggered upon removal of the head and the device from the zone. A second alarm may be triggered upon removal of the head and the device from the zone for a time that exceeds a threshold of time. A key may insert into the hub to deactivate the second alarm.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2015Publication date: October 20, 2016Applicant: Sennco Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Marszalek, Daniel Horvath, Andy Reynolds, Rebecca Regan, Dale Russell Liff, Stephen Michael Strom

Publication number: 20160308952Abstract: An apparatus, a system and/or a method provide for wirelessly collecting data corresponding to a product attached to a security device. The security device associated with the product transmits wireless signals throughout a display area. A computer remotely positioned from the security device receives the wireless signals and stores status data of the security device. The computer wirelessly transmits the status data to a remote server, and the remote server determines statistical data from the status data. The remote server stores the statistical data in a database and facilitates user access to the data.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2015Publication date: October 20, 2016Applicant: SENNCO SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Christopher Marszalek, Dale Russell Liff, Stephen Michael Strom, Bill Johnson, Kerry Berland, Mark Kmiecik

Publication number: 20160307416Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method monitor a device within a zone. A head may wirelessly communicate with an emitter and a hub. The head may connect and/or disconnect power to a battery of the device according to a charge of the battery. The head may monitor an attachment of the head to the device and/or a connection of a cable to the head and/or a port of the device. The emitter may transmit a signal to define the zone and/or the head may receive the signal. A distance between the head and the emitter may be determined using a received signal strength indication and/or a time of flight measurement of the signal from the emitter to the head. The distance may indicate whether the head is positioned within the zone or outside of the zone. An alarm may be triggered if the head is positioned outside of the zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2015Publication date: October 20, 2016Applicant: Sennco Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Marszalek, Dale Russell Liff, Stephen Michael Strom, Bill Johnson, Kerry Berland, Mark Kmiecik

Patent number: 9282084Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a temporary identity module to a device (1) in a communication network. An RO Server (2) receives a request for an identity module (51) from the device (1). It then obtains an identity module and generates an encryption key (S4, S5). The encryption key is partitioned into a plurality of slices such that no slice comprises the whole encryption key (S6). Each slice is sent (S8, S9) to respective further devices (10, 11) accessible by the server (2) such that no single further device (10, 11) receives sufficient slices to reconstruct the encryption key. A location key is generated (S10) that identifies each slice and the further device (10, 11) to which each slice has been sent. The identity module is encrypted using the encryption key (S11) and sent to the device (1) along with the location key (S12). The device (1) can subsequently use the location key to obtain the slices and reconstruct the encryption key.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2010Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Johan Hjelm, Michael Åström, Gerardo Montero Arizmendi

Patent number: 9077742Abstract: A system and method for correlating communication sessions. A globally unique correlation identifier is created and exchanged between the parties during Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) session setup to allow for association and correlation of additional SIP sessions between the same parties or with additional parties. The correlation information may then be used by network and session entities to perform different services.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2013Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Michael Åström, Ioannis Fikouras, Salvatore Loreto, Elena Fersman, Goran Anders Petter Eriksson, Roman Levenshteyn, Gonzalo Camarillo

Patent number: 8611878Abstract: An arrangement and method in a wireless communication network provides users with full control of service management, defines how a user can enter or leave services, and defines dependencies between services. A mobile terminal initiates establishment of a group and creates a unique groupID. The terminal sends invitations to other terminals to join the group and includes the unique groupID and a service feature tag for a desired service. The terminal will not request a service if it is incompatible with a service already running. Terminals that receive invitations store the groupID and service feature tags. These parameters are used to send acceptances or rejections, and to join later or leave a service.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2012Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Elena Fersman, Michael Åström
