  • Publication number: 20150098786
Abstract: A work tool position sensing assembly for an earth moving machine is disclosed. The earth moving machine has a pivotally movable work tool connected to the pivotally movable stick. The work tool and the stick are interconnected by a tilt linkage. Angular position of the work tool is determined by a work tool position sensing assembly. The work tool position sensing assembly includes a pivot pin, a first gear, a second gear and a rotatory position sensor. The pivot pin is configured to attach the stick with the tilt linkage and is permitted to rotate proportionally with the angular rotation of the work tool. The rotation of the pivot pin is transmitted to the rotatory position sensor via the first gear and the second gear. The rotatory position sensor is configured to measure the angular rotation of the pivot pin. The rotatory position sensor is disposed inside the body of the stick.

  • Publication number: 20150096440
Abstract: A position sensor assembly for the hydraulic cylinder having a piston and piston rod is provided. The position sensor assembly includes a pressure to electric energy convertor, a transmitter and a receiver. The pressure to electric energy convertor is disposed inside the piston. The pressure to electric energy convertor is configured to determine pressures on both the sides of the piston and convert the determined pressure difference into electric current. The electric current is consumed by the transmitter and hence, the transmitter generates a signal. The signal is wirelessly transmitted to the receiver through the hydraulic cylinder. The receiver disposed on the hydraulic cylinder receives the signal through various components of the hydraulic cylinder. The signal is used to determine the position of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20150008006
Abstract: A system for automated control of a motor grader includes a first sensor to indicate bounce of the motor grader and a speed sensor to indicate the ground speed. A controller determines a maximum amplitude of the bounce of the motor grader and controls the ground speed of the motor grader at least in part based upon the maximum amplitude of the bounce. A method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130076345
Abstract: A system is configured to determine the displacement of a moveable member relative to a reference member. A set of sensors is fixed relative to one of the reference member and moveable member. An array of encoded words is provided. The encoded words define the positions of the moveable member along a first direction. Each encoded word includes a plurality of indicia and each indicia is a multi-level logic unit configured as one of at least three states.
